* heldFor those out there who hold the root beer into their hands, how does the gold color compare with the gen? Does the plate stand the test of time or polishing?
From the TDs photos on their sites, the gold color seems too yellow. Thank you!
I would never try to polish any gold plated reps. There is no way they can stand any polishing forces, the thickness of the plating is really minimal on all the reps. For those out there who hold the root beer into their hands, how does the gold color compare with the gen? I bought a clean gmt batman with dd movement but the “platinum “ was removed after I cleaned with a fingher the bezel at 12. How can I fix it? I need to buy a new bezel? If yes someone could suggest me the best one? Thanks so much for your supportNono, I said inlay - meaning the "platinum" bit in the laser cut grooves.
From a far, it looks thicker, as per gen. And I suspect, it has to do with light refraction from that application. Also I think I see slightly deeper grooves.
Feel free to investigate and correct me, if Im seeing wrong.
If the platinum came out then your options are to use a silver paint which @KJ2020 gets good results with, or replace the insert which your TD can get for you, or pick one up from someone who swapped theirs. You could also use a Xing insert if you like their colors.I bought a clean gmt batman with dd movement but the “platinum “ was removed after I cleaned with a fingher the bezel at 12. Oyster is 1.6mm, jubilee is 1.2mm.Can someone please confirm the correct size screwdriver size for gmt ii jubilee bracelet? the bracelet that came on mine from the 1st batch will accept up to a 1.5mm screwdriver (maybe 1.6, i dont have). the links that my TD sent extra are i think 1.2mm. he says he took them off another v3 bracelet. i confirmed they are not datejust links. i think from google all rolex jubilee is 1.2 and oyster 1.6. can someone confirm this and maybe check your v3 gmt jubilee screw size? i read this is maybe cleans first foray into making their own bracelets instead of arf. would make sense i guess if they screwed up first batch

KJ2020 Paint Mod
I highly recommend trying a paint mod first. Replacing a CLEAN insert is an adventure you can live without.
And how to paint? Which is the right paint reference? As Member @KJ2020 mentioned, this is an adventure that can be avoided. In my experience, this is possible if you dismantle the entire bezel construction and then use a razor to push it around and around in circles between the bezel and the insert from below, then it works fairly painlessly.
But you can do a lot wrong when removing the bezel, eg bending the spring, destroying the bezel seal (90% of the time this will happen) and then the device will no longer hold on the watch. Then comes the neatly thinning out of a monofilament fishing line to replace the hytrel ring so that the bezel holds again, but can also be rotated.
A paint mod is less dramatic

Oyster is 1.6mm, jubilee is 1.2mm.
My CLEAN V1 Jubilee Y8C bracelet will (kind of) fit a 1.4mm screwdriver but it really shouldn't - it's meant for a 1.2mm.
DJ links near the clasp should be the same width as the GMTs (~16mm), so those links should be interchangeable. YMMV with varying rep factories.
@KJ2020 @WatchSmith.US thank you for the replies. My bracelet is also y8c code. I might try asking my dealer clasp code of the donor bracelet he pulled my spare links from. Not trying to spread misinformation or anything, but the links he sent from the newer watch didn't fit my bracelet. The screws are slightly different diameters. You are correct that DJ links are same width but my GMT links are thicker than the DJ links. He says he will send me links that fit
