Cheating at QC pictures?

No, I accept the flaws. I wear them. None of the flaws that I've seen posted here warrant return of the watch to me. They are so minor. I just want a different dial on my watch. It's not messed up. My new day/date lume dots are off. Do I care? no. You can't see it unless you are right on top of the watch. That's a minor issue. The crown etching is a little off center on another watch. I don't care. I love these watches. You have to accept minor flaws. If there was a noticeable scratch or something noticeable to everyone, yes, I would ask for a replacement. But all of the ones presented are minute and no reason to have them replaced by the TD.

You know what QC pics are? They're a casino slot machine. Everyone knows how much variation there is in quality, but we all hope for the perfect watch.

Some members (type 1) are OK "losing" at the slot machine and accepting a watch with extra flaws. Those are the people that tell noobs to go "buy a gen"

Some members (type 2) hope to get all 7s at the QC slot machine and receive a perfect watch for the money. Those are the people that tell the cheerleaders to go to canal st if they are so accepting of flaws.

Lots of people pretend to be type 1, but deep down most are type 2 when their own money is on the line. Some guys here are preaching about accepting flaws, yet I remember those same people in an uproar about the screws on the AP 57th.

When you're a driver, you think cars have the right of way. But as soon as you ride your bike, you start thinking cyclists have the right of way.

This forum would be very boring if we always agreed with each other. ;)

The only other reason I would ask for a replacement was if there was a mechanical problem once I received the watch. A noticeable (within a few feet) major flaw, or mechanical problem. Otherwise I accept them. I know everyone's expectations are different, but for those tiny flaws it is not worth complaining about because it will come back to bite us in the ass if this keeps up. And we will all pay for it unfortunately. Literally through our wallets.

:thinking:Do you think reps attained the level of quality we enjoy today by accepting flaws? .....just sayin'..

Yes. Some guys are ready pay extra 20 bucks for the close inspection made by the dealer. But do they care? I mean dealers?
This whole replica thing is built around BS, lies, deceit, and money. Where dealing with criminals selling illegal goods and the entire replica business is not on the up and up. These are not hard working honest people trying to run a legitmate business. These are people running an illegal business and not paying taxes and stealing others products names for profit. Do you think some factory or seller around the world gives a shit about your scratched bezel, happy feet, or F'ed up watch?? LMAO please get real.

Having that said we have to admit that we are the criminals as well buying from them.

We are not talking about the overall aesthetics, mechanical innovations, construction improvements and quality of these watches that has evolved majorly in the last several years. We are talking about individual watches and the craftsmanship that has gone into them to put them together for us whether to accept them or not. the overall quality and closeness to gens and the technology improvements were not achieved by us buyers accepting or rejecting the watches.

The moderators have made it very clear that these watches are not going to be perfect and do not expect perfection. Therefore it is frivolous to complain about these minor flaws. they are to be expected.

The post wasn't about the flaw, it was about the fact a TRUSTED dealer was moving hands on the watch to hide the flaw. And should this be accepted by you as a buyer. If the dealer is going to hide things in the pic maybe they won't even send you the watch in the pic. Maybe this dealers trusted status should be questioned. This is why we need to ask these questions in public. So it's not about the flaw on the watch. The TD is that for a reason and they need to maintain a level of integrity to remain that way. If they start doing things like hiding flaws or sending different watches from the ones in the pics, we might as well go buy from any random watch site. What is the point of being called trusted if you don't have to live up to it.

There are so many damn topics in this thread that I can barely keep up. ugh. :frusty:

Can we all just agree on the following points?

  1. QC Pics are good IF the Trusted Dealer doesn't purposefully hide flaws
  2. QC Pics are good IF the customer doesn't search for microscopic flaws or ask others to do so on his behalf
  3. QC Pics become (almost) unnecessary if you build a very good relationship with a TD and make him aware of flaws you want to avoid
  4. Everyone here wants the best watch possible. If they say they don't, they're lying. Otherwise, they'd still be on Canal St. buying a $20 Rolex.

Other than that, I think I've exhausted myself on this topic. I'm glad s3g0y made this discovery , but I'm kinda sick of this after 20+ pages. :beatahorse:

Yes, and Ryan immediately spoke up as he was unaware that this was going on, and he offered to fix the problem immediately. That is what a trusted dealer is. And you guys are still downing him. That is what is terrible. His reputation is on the line. So why would he purposely hide a flaw knowing that the buyer might see it when they get it? I have never bought from him but have read a lot that when there is a problem he makes it right.

Admin, please lock this thread. EVERYTHING has been said already.

Why do you find that funny?......Have you not been accused of anything in your life over something that was completely out of your control or had no knowledge of?

Let's not forget what the boss said here guys......

Nope, 100% correct. What happened still happened and this doesn't change that. I have however been assured that the matter at hand is being addressed by Ryan and I have no reason to doubt that is true.

Yes I have. In this thread.

Anyway I still find it funny because of what Ryan's photographer wrote to me after I warned him not to trick with me like this anymore. He wrote: "Hi my friend
Check your email, I am very sad,I am so sorry about it.But we really never do it like you said,Ryan will contact you."

And it just made me laugh. My fault.... Sorry.

Oh and don't forget when a dealer any dealer gets caught doing something its always his guys fault and his guys will get a talking to. LOL, it all BS. The dealers tell you they handle and inspect your watch, I say horseshit, they make a call to Long Duck he go get watch, take pic, box up watch, and send to your address. Theres no quality control, get real, its all a shame for profit. Look over there and not here. Who you gonna believe me or your or your lying eyes??:hehehe:

p.s.
I'm going to my bed as it's almost 2 a.m. See you tomorrow. (or not of I'm banned by TB overnight)

This shit happens all the time, always has, shit some dealers use the same pics over and over they tell you, me, and the next guy this is the watch you will get and then you get something diffrent, its mostly BS, problem here is the dealer got caught.
