This guy. Haha. Forum's biggest dickhead.

Say, did you hear bmw76-ZERO got so fat he had to have lyposuction? They sucked the fat out out of his arse and pumped it into his lips, but now his arse is in his mouth and he can't stop talking shit.

True story.

If you're going to take a shot make it count. This was a bit weak.

yea.... dont involve the whole Cash for QC pics... that doesn't help us at all.... but the high res pics are good for us... because it makes these watches even more superior... most of the QC pics Ive seen have been Excellent... if we had lower res pics then the makers wouldn't bother improving their standards....

I'm not talking about lower res pics than what we already have. I'm quite sure dealers use 800x600 right now, and even that is a bit too detailed. I'm saying that if there are crazy nitpickers out there that want to go through their watches with a virtual loupe, then let them pay for it. I'm very happy with the QC picture situation as it is right now, and don't want it to change at all. I'd probably be just as happy with a smaller resolution pic, since even 800x600 shows up as about triple diameter (9 times bigger!) on my monitor.

+1 to everything you wrote in this thread

QC pics are good. Period. But sometimes are confusing.
Example:

After receiving this qc picture from one deale (not a TD here) I had have a long discussion with him because I thought that the case is scratched.
p1860384.jpg

The dealer said: trust me it's fine, it's only the light. And I trusted him. There was nothing wrong with this case.

The second (actually still the same) example:

P1850357.jpg

Instead of dots there should be numbers in this Carrera. Would you accept this watch? No, although this IS the watch that you ordered. But it's fu%ked. The inner ring was taken from the other TAG model.

QC pics are good. Hiding dial flaws with the hand is bad.

There might be the tiniest justification for QC pics. Not for me, personally, but I concede some of the points that have been made.

BUT - nobody will ever convince me that there's justification for posting QC pics that were meant for YOU PERSONALLY. Period.

I doubt that an 800x600 pic shows up 9x bigger on ur screen unless you have a low res monitor or one of those old CRT monitors... but all aside... I think the QC pics are fine the way it is... I just had to say something when u started mentioning about paying more money for diff pics.. I know you had good intentions but the TD can easily take shit pics and then ask us to pay up for better pics... so yea.,, the prices are already rising up as the months go by, lets not give them ideas on how to charge us more lol....

Why?
It's just a picture of a watch. What's the difference between posting a picture of your watch taken by the dealer and posting the picture of the same watch taken by you after you receive it?

Qc pics - Use them to your advantage. Be picky! Abuse them, post them, get the maximum benefit out of them, in any way that you can. Take advantage of them to get a better watch/deal.

You can be sure as shit that your preferred dealer is.... Why should you miss out? :)

'Oh yeah, I'd rather NOT see a picture of my 500$ purchase in advance'... Riiiiiiiight.
If I was a dealer, I'd get to the point of hiding tiny things too. Im fairly new to this compared to a lot of guys, but I know QC pics werent always around. And the members that bitch over the microscopic "errors" are going to ruin it all for everyone. How can you possibly bitch over something that isn't owed to you? If a marker is slightly crooked, fix it or dont bitch. Everyone wants genuine quality control at replica prices. Get over it.

The problem is widely discussed here and on other rep forums.

Bottom line is that we see too many noobs asking us what the flaws are, could that just be a reflection, etc. They are looking for assurance from forum members, in some cases to the point of tedium, particularly because we can't say for certain that ANYTHING is wrong with the watch based on a 2D picture.

The only thing worth evaluating is the watch. Pick your dealer, pick your watch. If you don't trust the dealer, ask for pics. Keep them to yourself, please. We don't want or need to see them.

Ok I got it. So this is not about posting them or not, but more about the reason for posting them.

Honestly s3goy I would take that watch. That wouldn't be a big deal to me. Like If YOu see kay said. If you don't like it, then have it changed once you get it. I have a watch going out to a modder right now to have something changed. It's a beautiful watch, but I'm not sending it back to the TD. He did a great job. I got a great functioning watch. I'm spending another 75 bucks to get what I want in this watch. That's what our modders are here for. If this kind of stuff continues, the prices are going to go through the roof, or the td's are just going to drop us I believe.

What watch? This Heuer from the first post?
I took it! And I'm not gonna have it changed. I will deal with this myself. The flaw is not a big deal. Cheap trick with hiding it with the minute hand was.

So if you had a choice - to be pain in the ass for a TD a little bit, spend let's say $275 and get the decent rep OR to accept the first piece proposed by the TD with visible flaws, pay the same $275 and have to pay additional $75 to a modder for removing the flaw, then you would go for the second choice?
Yea.... right...

God damn it , I just can't believe this....
I respect you TB a lot. But I just can't believe that in this whole long thread the only thing that raised your attention is 1. that all this idea of qc pics sucks and 2. that one post was sent from the same IP by the other user...
Really? You strike your own forum's long time member and ignore the main issue of this thread? You want me to apologise Ryan? For what? For spending like 2 or 3 thousand dollars on his goods up to date? I just cant' believe it!

I just called Dominika and told her that she doesn't exist. She laughed.
She only bought one rep once. About half a year ago or so. She was looking for a birthday present for her father and she knew that I was the watch enthusiast. Finally she bought PAM 111n. As the matter of fact I bought it for her. From Ryan naturally.

I adviced her to create an account here and helped her. It was some time ago and it was not for this discussion purpose. I thought that maybe she will become a rep wis as I am. It didn't happen.
Yesterday she was visiting me after some time and asked me how is my rep world going. I told her that it's full of bullshit. I told her a story and showed this thread. Then she asked if she can write something.

What now? Shall I demand apologies?

No...
I think that everything was already said in this thread. Thanks to all you lovers and haters here. I hope you had a good time reading.

Peace!

Mate the boss has heard this very same explanation/excuse ad nauseum.

There have been countless threads where the members in general disagree with the OP en masse......what happens next?......A new member with little to no posts pops up in defence of the OP......no prizes whatsoever for guessing what said OP has done......so naturally you can see as to why a question mark has been raised here.

2. QC Pics-- Yes, they should just go away. They have mutated into a monster from their original purpose. They now cause more issues than they prevent.

I see no problem with pic's,if only to verify that they are sending the watch you want.sending something back or accepting a watch that's not what you ordered is a pain in the arse IMO

QC pics imho should not be used to reject a microscopic miniscule minutiae of a flaw that only a 20x loupe can see, or a macro shot that fills up your entire monitor.
Yes, if the Cyclops is crooked, or if there is a bezel scratch, but the aforementioned flaws? If it cannot be seen at with the naked eye at standard viewing distance, then it's hard to qualify QC pics.

BUT - nobody will ever convince me that there's justification for posting QC pics that were meant for YOU PERSONALLY. Period.

No, I accept the flaws. I wear them. None of the flaws that I've seen posted here warrant return of the watch to me. They are so minor. I just want a different dial on my watch. It's not messed up. My new day/date lume dots are off. Do I care? no. You can't see it unless you are right on top of the watch. That's a minor issue. The crown etching is a little off center on another watch. I don't care. I love these watches. You have to accept minor flaws. If there was a noticeable scratch or something noticeable to everyone, yes, I would ask for a replacement. But all of the ones presented are minute and no reason to have them replaced by the TD.
