Since it was years ago, I might be confusing the JKF bezel assembly with the type on some BP watches I purchased at the same time. Looking back at my pictures, maybe I replaced the JKF bezel because it was really thick, like a more modern submariner. Is the bezel thicker?
I think the BP bezel is different because it uses wire clips.
Mine was a thick bezel as posted above.

Above is the JKF bezel that was removed.

The bezel edges are in very good shape

Someone may have answered this already so my apologies. I just got my JK 5513 from a seller on here. Strip the whole Watch down and I wanted to remove that big bubble crystal. Can’t figure out how to get this thing off this case. Any suggestions?

Your case is different from my JKF case.

Is the bezel a wire clip?
I think you can remove it by removing the movement and pushing it out from inside the case.

Yes bezel clip
Your case is probably an old BP.

It has been written in this thread.

Razor blade round the retaining ring, getting underneath, if it is tight enough that you can't push the crystal up, from the inside, and then, if you don't have a bezel pry tool (very cheap on eBay, Alix, etc) lever it up, a little, moving round the ring 90deg at a time, until the ring comes off, using a thin flat blade screwdriver or alike (even a stiff knife). If the crystal doesn't then push out from the inside, run the razor round the base and go through the same pry steps. If it's glued and you don't want to keep the crystal and you can't pry it up, soak in acetone (will kill the plexi) and repeat steps.

Thank you very much.

Thank you very much.
Corrected my spelling mistakes - was phone typing - sorry!

I use one of these, every time, despite having the fancier vice style.

Razor blade and one of those has never failed me! Good luck!

I’m reading that this might be a BP case not a JK case… Will your method still work for this type of case? I’m afraid if I get the crystal out I won’t be able to find one to match back up.

This case is an old BP 16610 case, but it is integrated with the case instead of a retaining ring.
It was press-fitted into this gap.
