@Karbon74 Mine was also like that, I used a crystal press to separate the two. I think the issue is due to poor tolerances and can be fixed by sanding lightly the inner/outer diameter of the parts. I did nothing on it but used a press to put it together, hope it helps!

Here how it goes:
Place something thin made of steel under the bezel. Do this so that it is only under the bezel and not under the retaining ring. Then press on the retaining ring from above. I use the edge of my caliper gauge for this.

No just use the press, my latest JKF (Tudor) was the same, it is not glued together.

as usual Sensei @Megahz1 was right 😁

for those who try this, the choice of the plastic cast is crucial. else it can warp the retainer ring 😳

good thing is that the press works great to dewarp it 😅

on a more positive note, I am happy how the insert turned out.

It had my signature gradual fade, with a darkish cobalt tint. I will take pics in daylight tmrw. The color is lost in the artificial light with the iphone.
Can you explain a bit the process? Looks nice

Great tutorial and thread for information; have a MarvellousReplica 5513 (stick dial) on the way as we speak ;)

On a side note, i've tried to register here:
https://www.helenarou.com/index.html

I don't know what's happening but it won't seem to work and therefore can't place an order (i might as a guest, but would like the tracking).
I have emailed them by Yahoo and gmail...had no response for over a week???

I'd appreciate it very much if someone might shed some light as to what's happening or what i need to do...thanks.

P.S. On the website, the dials don't have any manufacturer details on the dials; i can assume this is for potential copyright issues.
Thing is, i would like the white markers etc on the dial and white hands to match - specifically due to the watch in Live and Let Die. So how do i know how to order the right dial?

Any help would be appreciated :)
THX

It's the usual bleach process.

Except that in France you have a specific full concentrate bleach (Eau de Javel Lacroix) invented in France that does a rather unique reaction which gives the paint a green/blue tint.

Then when the paint starts to go away, I rince the insert then use my fingers gently to rub a gradual fade.

Then dunk again and repeat.

The number of inserts I trash each time is spectacular 😅. And once upon a while, you get an insert with "something special" in terms of color and texture.

I will do them after the polish.
I always have a hard time getting the chamfers right on the point of the lugs.
You know when the chamfer is supposed to flare out

@Karbon74 to have nice consistency on the chamfers it is best to drag the file instead of using the regular motion, this way you maintain the same angle throughout the lug.
