Out of the box, I'd say the ceramic subs have flaws too. The V1NDC I had was a bit better build quality wise but I think that is by proxy. I mean, the gen ceramics are tougher and refinements are inherently of a higher standard anyway. I think Noob factory does a better job on dials, but that is a generality.

This is a classic watch that is constructed more like gen than any other version before it. The V1SD was awesome but it needed more crown guard work, super lume, crystal had LEC, bracelet wasn't as good as the TC ... So you see, if you like this classic style the build quality really isn't a comparable question.

Man I sounded like a BPSD douche snob. Lol

Hope that helps anyway.

Thanks R2D4, it helps a lot.
I was concerned about the build quality because the latest rolexes (subc v3, exp 2...) seem to be a lot better in terms of refinements in comparison to the subc v1 and I was wondering if the BPSD is a step forward, too.
I'm one of those are more concerned about the overall quality of the watch instead of some small flaws; I mean that I can live with the fat hour hand of the subc v1 but I'm really pissed off when I look at the clasp or the pearl, that seem to be really cheap.
By the way, as you correctly say, the SD is a older watch so we should expect a lower standard if compared to the new "ceramic generation".
I'll buy the BPSD and with a TC bracelet I think I'll be just fine.
Thanks again!

I think the general quality is very good, greatly enhanced by TC parts. I now only have two watches, a gen IWC Doppelchronograph and a BPSD with mods. I did not keep a number of Panerai's and want to focus on quality, something that feels as good as gen on the wrist. The stock is good but with a few mods it's very good. Not embarrassed next to an IWC and plenty of gen watches are IMO (TAG, Breitling to name two). By the way I am awaiting a gen crown

Looks great close to your gen IWC. What about your mods?

Not sure why BK is not selling fully modded SDs using the BPs.. I would love one with all the TC trimmings...

Thanks Jordan. Why a 2813 instead of the 2836? Just because it's cheaper? Thanks.

Cheaper and the 2813 unit I received has no hand color mismatch OOB. Then you can upgrade to a better movement, etc.

Sead just told me that the BPSD comes only with the 2813, it seems I have no choice then.

I got a 2813 and was impressed with the smoothness of the tick and overall a better quality of the watch than the first versions that came out. Good luck bud!

I feel the same way. On top of things the hands are a perfect match and have the correct build.

If you're planning in getting the TC dial and hands, and crown/stem, then this will save you a bit.

So I have a bit of a problem yesterday I was using an orbital sander with my watch on and now its running close to 2 minutes fast a day. Is it possible that I could regulate it back to normal or is it just the movement that has to be fixed.
Its an Asian 2386 movement.

You need to take a look at the hairspring and see if it tangled over itself. That sounds like what happened.
