Plus crown detail and hence the reason for looking for a gen for my BPSD after comparing to TC crown and numerous gen pics

Wow, what a wealth of great information on this thread. While I read the discussions about the various movements, e.g., the high beat A2813, the A2836 or the Swiss ETA, I did not see discussion of which movement seems to work best and hold up best (although it sounds like folks shy away from the Swiss ETA since they can sometimes be refurbs). Of the available movements, which is prefer and why? Thanks.

I suppose it's going to be somewhat of a crap shoot no matter what. I got a gen ETA when I ordered a clone. Not a good thing, it was a real piece of junk. gears missing teeth, the mainspring barrel called it quits within a few hours of wearing the watch. I installed a new ETA movement in mine, so I suppose that would be my advice.

I got my SD yesterday, looks fantastic and feels the part too.
but in my rush to put on TCs bracelet I seem to have put it on backwards after 45 minutes of sanding down the endlinks.
So im going to keep it like this because I am waaaaayyy too lazy to take the bracelet off again.

I think I've sold my TC sub to a friend, so now I only have one rep....... Just awaiting a gen crown then it's complete. I like the minimalism one Rolex, one camera B&Silver a classic combination

Unscrew the links nearest the clasp and just flip it around silly.

I was wondering if in these reps is the crown supposed to sit so far out from the case as it is in my rep, its to the point where I can see the Gasket even with the crown fully screwed in.

I was wondering if it its a problem what can I do other then replace the crown to solve it.

No it shouldn't be like that... A few things could cause that,

1. Incorrect stem length
2. Threaded crown where it's binding up halfway down
3. Threaded tube not allowing the crown to screw past a certain point from cross threading

take a photo in the time setting position so we can see the threads of the tube and how far out the stem is :)

Looks like the tube is threaded only halfway, No wonder I can only get a quarter of a turn when I try and screw the crown in.
Now would the best course of action be continuing to thread it or just buy a tc crown and tube set and having someone put it in.

Those crown guards are nice!

Where abouts are you located?

I would personally send it to a modder with a TC crown and tube it's just that much better for the $25 plus modders fees

Hi guys, it's time for me to buy one of these beauties. Should I hold on a little longer for a new version or it has been already updated?
Another question: I only have one rep, a noob v1 114060, which is a nice watch if you can live with the flaws. Do you guys think that this bpsd is a step forward in terms of build quality or there's not much difference?
Thanks for your help.

I'd grab a nice cheap 2813 version of the BP.. it is a beautiful watch. Change the bracelet and enjoy it.. can't comment on the quality compared to a noob sub but I doubt you would be disappointed with the BP SD

Thanks Jordan. Why a 2813 instead of the 2836? Just because it's cheaper? Thanks.

Pretty much.. If you want to spend the extra I would definitely recommend the 2836 it's a great movement. Just costs a bit extra. Only reason I suggested the cheaper option is if you were unsure in anyway of whether you'd enjoy the SD just to try it :)

Out of the box, I'd say the ceramic subs have flaws too. The V1NDC I had was a bit better build quality wise but I think that is by proxy. I mean, the gen ceramics are tougher and refinements are inherently of a higher standard anyway. I think Noob factory does a better job on dials, but that is a generality.

This is a classic watch that is constructed more like gen than any other version before it. The V1SD was awesome but it needed more crown guard work, super lume, crystal had LEC, bracelet wasn't as good as the TC ... So you see, if you like this classic style the build quality really isn't a comparable question.

Man I sounded like a BPSD douche snob. Lol

Hope that helps anyway.

I would rather the rep not have it. I just changed out the crystal on my 114060 with one without LEC. Gen LEC isn't visible!!
