Okay, so the TC hands mod addresses the greenish tinge without a relume. Is it work getting the TC dial as well? $100 for both of them.

I would say so. Or just buy some Clark's hands. Only 15$. Looks like this

If I had to do it all over again, I would buy the BPSD and just wear the damn thing.. No one can see the green unless you look for it.. Everything else is fine! I spent a boatload of money on mine and I love it! But nothing beats Gen.. Buy it, wear it, enjoy it ;)

I went with the least mods possible, to keep the cost down, I chose TC crown/tube, TC hands and the TC SD bracelet, personally I think with just those parts, the BP SD is cracking watch.

I wear my SD quite a bit, and it is my 2nd favourite watch next to my TC sub.

I've got a really silly question after reading this thread. I bought a so called SSD V2 with swiss 2836 from a member. Is this the BP SD which is discussed here or is it another manufacturer?
Sorry about my question but I'm relativly new to the 16600 facts...

Cheers

Andi

The SSD is the original SD made a couple of years ago by the Noob factory. As far as quality, in my opinion it's probably considerably better than the BP, but the BP does have a more accurate case. SSD has a by far better bracelet and were made with either brand new ETA movements or new clones. I'd like to find a used BP case and transfer my SSD guts and bracelet to that case. My SSD with an ETA movement still keeps time to a few seconds a day after 3 years.

Just order a 21j. They are like 150$. Then sell the other watch once you do the swap.

I'm tempted. Been kinda waiting for a broken one to show up that I can buy the case for less than $100.

Does replacing the BP tube with the TC tube require retapping the hole in the case? I rejected my second BP SD because of the alignment of the 12 o'clock marker, and was thinking going whole hog and doing TC crown/tube, TC hands, TC dial, and TC bracelet. If I knew a modder who would install these for a reasonable price, I would go ahead and do that.

No mods yet for me except for a TC bracelet with gen diver extension and to be honest, the BP bracelet is pretty good as well.

Get ready to do a BPSD rehaut check...

BPSD cases originally had the rlxrlxrlx engraving around the rehaut. Factory sanded it off. If you look really close with good optics and lighting you will see remnants of the etching.

When these originally came out this was one of the inconsistencys. Have not hear this happening in a while. Wonder if its an old one being resold?

This is a 16600 thread for the most part,,,,,The DSSD is a different watch your asking about,,,,As far as which is the best version to mod,,,,,Some say the V6 OR V7 BP DSSD's are the best version to mod! Read through the TD section in this forum about Swiss movement DSSD's,,,,a lot of dealers carry the same watches some different prices and version's,,
Good Luck,,,and enjoy your self!

PS;;;Also there are a DSSD thread here,,,,You will find lots of info in there about modding and incorporating gen parts to a rep DSSD,,

I frequently see you saying nice things and helping people. :smokie:hipster.

It's mine. This was a watch I worked on full tilt. I even wear a corny jacket when I work on watches like this guy.

The sun hit the rehaut just right this morning while one wrist "busdriver" steering my way along in the car. There I spotted it. I couldn't believe it, but... Now it's always there.
