So, apparently the BP SeaDweller has been out of stock recently, the main issue being the lack of bracelets. According to a forum member, the stock of the bracelets have since been replenished. But, the TD I worked with offered me a $40 discount if I ordered just the watch head, which I took up, since I was planning on replacing the bracelet with one from TC instead.

Anyhow, these are the photos that I received. My main concerns are the alignment of the 12 o'clock marker, and the shape of the crown, which looks a bit more rounded than the SD crown should be. The print on the insert also appears to be a bit thicker than it should (although this might be because the photo is not in perfect focus).

Is it just me or is crown in a lower position on this one?

Some random pics of this watch. It's the so called Swiss version eta 2836. However it seems it's stamped 2834. Someone can comment? Too much 'gold' this movement has .....

2834 and 2836 don't differ very much. It's only the day mechanism which is unused in our RLX watches. 2834 has got an additional plastic spacer which should be removed on your movement.
Everything o. k.!

It's an ETA movement but used/refurbished. Originally came in a Day/Date watch.

Awesome watch. I'm looking to build a franken. Does anyone know to get a gen crown to fit without drilling and retapping the case for tube replacement?

Comparison pic for the BP version 116610 ceramic Submariner (left) TC Caddell Submariner Rouge 25-286 (center) and BP Seadweller (right), the 116610 has the most comfortable/without tools in a sec adjustable bracelet, several engravings incl. serial, it´s also the most fragile until You get used to it, TC V4 bracelet is the best quality and best looking outside and crown/ very good when fitting the wrist spot on, most difficult to fine tune if not, the BP bracelet on this Seadweller is spot on too, perfect as is for standard users (as me). Wrist-time after a couple months is +- 40% Sub-C (because of comfort), 35% TC, 35% Seadweller. If I had to choose only one the Seadweller (good looking classic without lupe) could be first choice for the price/value relationship/ ease of use and this sample is spot-on with best time keeping. Nice extra feature: when screwing the crown in it winds the mechanism gen-like. The Sub-C has LEC the others both don´t. All 3 have long-lasting lume (readable all night). On for the pics:

BP Sub-C vs. BP Seadweller

BP Seadweller on the left / TC on the right - from this angle You notice how flat the TC is (same diff. regarding the Sub-C), which gives another wrist-feel

Ended up canceling my order for that SD. Just couldn't get one with properly aligned dial markers.

But, it sounds like maybe I wasn't being offered a BP SD?

It could have just been the angle of the pic, but the crown looked lower on yours. Markers can be realigned, dials can be added later. To me that is the least concern. Think of how many of us have extra BP dials. ;) You could have asked us for one.

I guess if you want the watch it's going to take some work to get it right. Most important is a crown shot dead on so you can decide.

This watch is dangerous. Found myself in an AD looking at gens yesterday.

I'm nearly there at the end of my SD journey. Below my SD with TC dial, TC hands, TC DWO, Swiss ETA, TC bracelet and CG mod and case polish. I will now have a gen crown fitted as the TC crown is better then the SD, the Sub is a TC Cadell. To pick betweens the two, the TC Caddell has a very very marginally nicer dial (Tiny bit more class) the CG's on the modded BP are now as nice/nicer than TC. The straps are no different in finish. The BP bezel with modded pearl is nicer then the TC IMO (The TC is not quite flat but has very nice colour, markers and pearl, but looks more 'painted'). I'm very happy and will definitely keep the SD, I prefer this to the sub. The glass looks great on both (although the TC is prone to tiny chipping on the edge)

I just wanted to give a shout of thanks to Ado123 (Adrian) for his sterling work on my and my friends SD build. Ado is extremely knowledgeable and has done an amazing job with my SD build, the watches will go back for gen crowns and the 'perect SD' is finished for me. I wanted something as reliable as a gen, that was as well finished as a gen and a daily beater that I could rely on. I am slimming down my watch 'collection' all my PAMS are gone, my TC Caddell will go and I will have the SD, A gen IWC Doppelchronograph and I am looking to buy a gen JLC Reverso Grand Duo. I will add one more watch not sure yet which one !
