BP Released whole line of DG3804 CHS GMTs - cheap!

So finally received my QC, took a while, good man Li rejected 5 watfches, he told me the watches with this "lite" DG 3804 CHS movement are difficult, BP really seem to have a quality control issue ..... I approvbed (of course, watch looks great to me, even the crystal and cyclops!).

For $240 this is quite the steal I think, thanks for putting up the link to PF where these are priced as such and Li met this price

Did Li say what the QC issues were? Are we talking movement issues or build quality, like bezels?

No he didn't, he just mentioned that he rejected 5 watches. I didn't ask, just answered along the lines of "gimme gimme," I may shoot him another line and see what the issues were

NGL this looks fantastic, and $68 cheaper than the BP. Solid all around. Li really knocked it out of the park. I'm so happy for you mate!

Well I got my BP Pepsi 16710 with one of those DG 3804 "lite" dead at arrival, maybe he rejected a few with defective movements as well.

Interested to find out about the cause of these rejections by Li.

Nonetheless, beautiful choice. I might go through Li to get one of these instead of PC, as he seems to properly filter the flawed watches before validating an orders.

I'm also highly intrigued by BPs release of this line of watches and especially the new DG3804 movement.

Currently in the process of ordering a CHNR DG3804 CHS from Ryan.

Will follow up when it's there.

Check out my GMT Movements Explained post for more info about the DG3804 movements. Factories and TDs are going to refer to them as 2813s. But there are several different variants of 2813s and ones with an independent GMT or hour hand are really DG3804s.

Look at the hand stack and the movement pics to ID the watch.

So after a llot of deliberation and long wait it's finally here!!

Peeps this is a gorgeous watch!

Li did a great job with the QC.

The case, crystal, strap all have a high quality feel to it.

The bezel clicks wonderfully without play

We will have to see how the DG3804 movement is going to hold up

So far so good. CHS is fun, date set only works with advancing the hour hand

I thought the frisbee GMThand hole surround would bother me butit doesn't in the least

I was afraid of sizing the strap but the little screws came out of the links without a problem. I did need to use a watchmaker screwdriver, the household precision screwdriver was too weak, it couldn't handle the torsional force needed

I hope that the movement holds out till ARF or VRF come out with a super clone movement powered CHNR but if this one holds out I may not ffeel the need to upgrade.

It's a bewdy folks. For $240 it's a steal.

RiffRalf mate that’s an absolute stunner. May I say, probably the best value watch I’ve ever seen at $240 on par with their BP SeaDweller which is also a brilliant watch out of the box. Again, everybody should have at least one of these CHS lite! Especially now that the big expensive CHS are failing due to a rushed release!

The newer release looks considerably worse to me - bezel numbers are thin and the insert seems flat also the numbers on the date wheel looks really thin?

But Li at JTime managed to source some decent ones, better than Josh’s and Trusty’s. And cheaper than the Serpico & Laino from TS. I’d go for that one.
