Based on some experiences here, would it be correct to say that the DG3804 (modified 2813) can have an issue with the hour and minute hands becoming unsync'd by moving the hour backwards? Otherwise the only other issue seems to be the hour hand not jumping tightly/properly when setting the time?

I wouldn't say the unsynching occurs only because of hour jumping backwards. These movements are not great and should be avoided IMO. I rejected both of the ones I bought based on their performance brand new. There are better options available for nearly the same price.

I'm not sure if this would be the right thread to discuss this but what would you suggest for a similar price range? I know that there is a GMF with a 2836 but that's in the $400 price range. I'm not sure if there are any other options with a 2836 or ICHS 2813/3804 available for a BLRO?

So I ordered one of these BP 16710 Pepsi from Andrew:
https://trustytime.io/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_5&products_id=16804

Despite the description that says A3185, the photos and videos seem to suggest that this is an ICHS 2836 based on the hand stack and the ETA movement signature. However, the actual QC photos is CHS with a crown that sits pretty low:
I really hope this is not a 2824 time bomb :(

There are no 5 digit Rolex GMT reps that have rep true clone movements so A3185 is a misnomer. At best it could have a 3185 fake engraving on it.

If you ordered a 2836 ICHS, then you were not shown the watch you ordered. The one you posted here is indeed a watch this thread is about, and is not only only less expensive but significantly less reliable and impossible to repair or replace without another movement like it from a TD. You cannot even swap it to an ICHS DG3804 without sourcing new hands, as the different hand stack means different hands hole sizes.

I would reject this and get the tried and true 2836 ICHS. Read some more of this thread if you are not sure about it. I rejected two of these even after intentionally buying them because of obvious flaws in QC videos, links to which are posted in this thread.

KJ2020 Thanks for confirming. I have rejected the QC as it showed a different model compared to that displayed on Andrew's website. Worst case, more money will have to be forked up for a movement replacement. Not sure it's worth it on a BP case, where chamfers are a bit too pronounced and the overall dimensions are off.

BP Rolex 16710 GMT Full Review VS Gen

The hour hand on my BP 16710 ICHS became misaligned with the GMT and minute hands. (Minute hand and GMT hand (almost) at :00 but hour hand is at like :40 so maybe 20 mins off). It happened once when I got the watch, and randomly it fixed itself somehow. This time it happened and can’t seem to get it back. I guess something with quick setting the hour? Does anyone know a trick to fixing this? Like if I quick set the hour at a certain time maybe??

You meant to say CHS right? If the hour hand is on the bottom and if it hour jumps, it's the DG3804 CHS.

Your GMT hand is off from the minute hand also. It should be at an hour or on a 2 1/2 between minute tic (pointing exactly at a numeral or a dot on the bezel) when the minute hand is at 60.

These movements are not reliable. Best you can do now is try random time setting and hour jumping, sometimes the hands will sync back up. The hands could also all be removed and re-pressed to be synched. How long they would stay that way is anyone's guess.

I attempted 2 projects with 3804 movements. Both movements were pitched into the trash bin. Never again.

You’re right. It’s CHS. Could have sworn back when I ordered it 2 years ago I went ICHS for reliability. But looking at my order emails maybe not. I said ICHS, and TD said A-2813 CHS.

Pretty happy with this rep besides this hand alignment. Would you have some re-press the hands or is a movement swap better?

If it were mine I would swap the movement but you'll need all new hands if you go ETA, and a new hour and GMT hand if you go DG3804 ICHS. Also the dial feet positions for ETA are different.

Swap CHS to ICHS

Wow, amazing write-up by you as always. Probably too much work for me as I’ve never opened a caseback. If I can’t find someone to do it, might have to buy another. Or upgrade to ceramic!

I just got it to jump to ALMOST aligned I think. I better keep this one on my wrist or winder not to have to set again. :)

I love this rep, except for the bracelet. I wear it on nato etc. because of that. Anyone know a rep jubilee that would fit nicely on it?
