Still talking about the casebacks, right?
:)

I made better pics but here it is

Many thanks for that - so looks like the case diameter from Ken is pretty consistent but the case back from the BP varies - 30.39 for one and 30.89 for another. Anyone else with a BP that can measure theirs too?

Definitely need to see what people are getting for that dimension on their BP’s. It’s gonna be a few weeks for me but will post some pictures

What Tool do you use to open the case back?
Well the soft rubber ball is supposed to be good for this but in my case the caseback was screwed in too tight.
The Rolex tool, or what passes for it on the Bay and on Amazon, is reported not to fit replicas.
A poster here suoggested to glue something on with superglue and then twist it off
from the interweb I scored a suggestion to glue a socket on and then turn it off
Which is what I did
Came of with hand turning pressure only
And my back case from Ken's Store fits like a charm!
And looks better and feels better on the wrist
As you can see the watch is riding high on the wrist.

Tried to take the caseback off with the rubber balll trick but that did not work

So went on line to look for alternatives. glued on a socket with Gorilla Glue and let it sit for 24h.

The caseback went on just fine, as if it was made for it. This time I used the rubber ball to tighten it. And it sits and rides much better on the wrist now. Daily wearer material!
Even though this one is in contention, but just ever so slightly on the pricier side .....

Now all I need to do is find a way to get that socket off the casback LOL!
I read heating it up will dissolve it ....

Seems like I'm the only one that have different case set for my BP.

Soak the caseback in acetone (Goof off or nail polish remover), it will dissolve the glue. Set it up in a closed metal container, acetone evaporates quickly otherwise. Rinse with alcohol when done, should be good as new.

Does it’s worth to buy and meaby modded later? Or it would be better to buy a custom build right away?

I just got back to Los Angeles from a trip to Colorado and the case backs are here. They fit ......thankfully and reduce the overall thickness to 12.6 mm, This is just 2/10ths of a millimeter thicker than the case backs I found in my drawer. I see above that another member got these, so now at least we have a step in the right direction.

Can you help to take a measurement on the thread size on the caseback that you received?
Just got mine but it is half mm too small for my BP which is at 30.9mm. It does indeed half mm thinner than the BP one.

The ones I got measure 30.3 and fit my BP 16710

Ken from Raffles dials (links in this thread) is the place, but he’s sold out just now and says it may be Jan next year before he gets them back in.

My caseback arrived today :) will try to fit it tomorrow, just ordered a case opener. No clue how to open it, anything to take care of while opening it ?

Try the rubber ball method first.
