My caseback arrived today will try to fit it tomorrow, just ordered a case opener. No clue how to open it, anything to take care of while opening it ?

There’s nothing tricky about opening the caseback, it’s a straightforward anti-clockwise unscrew.

When you screw the new one in, make sure that a) the thin rubber gasket is in the right position so it doesn’t get pulled out of position and the caseback tightens down, and b) when you start screwing the caseback down, it’ll probably seat into the threads more accurately/easily if you do a couple of anti-clockwise turns to start with.

Don't try to force a caseback on. If it binds, take it off and reposition it with anti-clockwise turns til it seats again and re-try tightening.

Got my case back from Ken at Raffles earlier this week and just tried it out. Fits perfectly. Makes a big difference how it sits on my wrist.

Surprising how the thicker case back feels so weird and uncomfortable on my wrist.

gen crystal
gen Inlay
gen datewheel
gen crown
Tc oyster strap (but with solid end and center links, what is gen like ? Hollow center and middle ?)

Share some pics please, I’m on my way of doing almost the same build. Did you swap the movement to a VR? How fits the TC bracelet to the case?

Bracelet depends on the serial of the watch but I will not worry about it, saw a lot of them with the long clasp or the single clasp

It’s still the 2824. I will do some pics later.
The bracelet fits perfect in my opinion. But I am searching one with hollow middle links. Or is there also a Bracelet version with solid links on a 16710.

The BP GMT has a 2836 with GMT mod, unless you have one of the less common 2824 CHS timebombs.

SELs appeared from 2000 - 2007 (end year). Lug holes went away in 2003.

Interested in knowing what mods were made to yours to accommodate a gen crystal and insert, as the base model won't take either.

What do you mean with stick dial ?
It is the newest BP version yes. Somebody from a Facebook community group builds it for me.

The more recent version no longer has the stick dial and also has other improvements to the dial like the coronet which looks better

Not to change the subject but I asked Sead to get me a 214270 BP 904L A2824, I also asked if he had any update on the Panerai 911 or the Tudor 79030B.....I was almost tempted to buy the 79030B in gen but I'm saving up to buy my son a gen Omega Seamaster 300 Blue Dial for christmas. I also asked Adrian if he had made any progress on my 16710 build....I mean its not as if I spend my day thinking about watches and nothing else....Today I thought of Food and Sex!
