Well it is a preorder - therefore images are from a prototype. They might fix it before the release. Wait and see

Not entirely sure about the hype. While a cool achievement with the date. This version is by far the least aesthetically appealing. Its chunky compares to the 15400, date font looks out of place.

Its like the did the reverse of what rolex did for the daydate 2 vs daydate 40.

What are your thoughts on the 15510? It takes the case thickness, hour marker thickness, and hands from the 15500, and takes the minute track and hour marker length from the 15400. Removes the AP logo entirely.

IMHO removing the logo makes the dial look way too big, already a common complaint for the 15500 after they removed the "automatic" printing.
Not my cup of tea.
(Sorry if this off-topic with regard to OP)

They did shrink the dial some by extending the hour markers. But yes I'll miss the AP logo. IIRC they removed it to simplify the dial. I guess the 15500 wasn't a successful design as it was only in production in three years before they decided to discontinue it and revert to a lot of the 15400's elements. 15300 and 15400 were both in production for seven years.

Interesting, another bit of information I was unaware of. Perhaps there is a possibility of a 15510 replica. In the meantime, I'm still waiting for the 16202 or 11550 replicas.

As of today, the 15500 is not dicontinued yet. It is still in the actual AP catalogue which means it is still in production. My understanding is the 15510 reference will only be used for the 50th anniversary year with its rotor. I believe the 15510 will remain next year (2023) but without its "50th anniversary" rotor, maybe replacing the 15500 for good ?. Thats just a guess ...

I will be curious to read what legend may write about the APSF 15500 dial once in hand.

My vision is so poor it is a miracle the authorities let me drive, so I need to depend on the expert eagle eyes of legend.

I never much cared for the APs even though AP is my son’s favorite (he has a gen grey 15400 I believe), but this uncluttered 15500 is rather fetching to me.

I just see that all 15500 models have 2022 as an end date at watchbase.com. But otherwise I can find no articles or videos talking about the 15510.

Release it already @APSF !

Anybody have any sort of idea when this version/ first batch will be releasing ? I was about to buy the miyota clone that already exists but after seeing this thread, I told Steve to put a pause on since I would much rather have this... Even if the date font is a bit too big. I just hope the movement is reliable.

Nice release.Looking forward to it.

Hope the date font doesn’t look thick in person as it shows in the photos. The macro shots tend to exaggerate the size.

The square on the dial seems to be bigger or tighter together then on gen dial. And on gen the square looks a bit more flat .
i am no expert , just comparing pics

Just found this new pictures of APS 15500, and very disappointed with color, it’s nothing like it was shown in puretime promotional pics, and very bad IMO. DW is better, but dial texture is much worse comparing to PT pics.

Any thoughts?

really hope its just a lighting / angle / picture quality. Otherwise, sad.

The blue and gray look super dark, darker than the ZF's. If you showed me the APSF gray without a black for reference, I'd think it was black. The ZF gray is already darker than gen. Of course they both lack the metallic luster of the gens.
