Yes the date seems to be poorly printed, but considering how small it is in real life, I will take this over the ZF Miyota one any day, if only for the instant date change.
One pet peeve of mine resolved, and this may actually be the watch to get me to wear rep APs again. I have to see and feel it in person though.

$380 seems like too good a price to be true. Unless I converted that wrong.

My recent ZF 15500 was 2650 + 110 yuan from non-TD.

Changes on the dial too. The AP logo is removed, and the indices are longer, almost as long as the 15400's, but still fat like the 15500's. I do like the sportiness of the 15500 from the shorter indices, but my gripe with it is that the shorter indices and lack of "automatic" creates too much dead space in the bottom center of the dial. I'll miss the AP logo, but the longer indices shrink that dead space a bit. I think it's a wash for me. The 15500 is certainly the sportiest of the three. Wonder when we'll get the 15510 rep out.

Indeed, at first glance the date appears to be poorly printed and bolder than the ZF version. I made a quick comparaison but those are just pictures and does not reflect the real finishes. As legend rightly pointed out, one need to compare between two actual objects to have a better judgment on dial and overall finish.

On the picture you can easily notice the difference in date printing. But this is kind of zoomed in so maybe it will not be noticeable on the wrist.
