For some reason my WD refund from Ali is taking ages.
Maybe I will buy this direct. It looks really good

Re-entering a different price category now, but Watchdives just sorta surprise dropped the black and white 1863 models for $129; it’s a 39mm bezel instead of a 42mm, for any fans of the Speedmaster Reduced with smaller wrists.
Looks like they’ve fixed the 1860 issues and gone back to the successes (and price) of the 1862, though I might wait for their other colorway options to drop since they’re working on some cool FOIS style ones (and at that price point, may as well get a pretty and unique dial and handset out of it too)

I bought a US1450 too. Won't be able to review it till the end of the year though. Also I just bought two bracelets from Uncle Straps
I will give a review when I get them
I was unsure if going for the 1450 or 1171. I opted for the US1450 as I found someone selling it in my country.US1171
US1035
For me
It’s good. This way we can share the knowledge
You mean because the case is smaller? The movement is still a VK63 which is 30.8mm and the moonswatch dials are 31.5mm, so it might fit - hard to say the ultimate size of the dial without holding in the hand. If only a factory would sell blank 1862 casesVery interesting watch too, probably the best homage out there.
Not for modding though as there's no dial to drop in that case I am afraid.
Also the bracelet seems to be a quality solution from that video. Would be good to know if compatible with Omega or Uncle Seiko endlinks.
That's right, the case opening might still be a straight fit but no guarantee. You mean because the case is smaller? I'm working on a Gen Mars mission project and considering transplanting the movement and dial into a metal case for an Alaska-themed build, keeping all the functional subdials intact. I've heard that the movement might be glued to the original case, but I'm not entirely sure. Before I risk damaging the original case and movement, I wanted to see if anyone has successfully attempted this mod. I know using a rep case would be simpler and safer, but the 1/10s dial function typically doesn’t work on reps, which is why I’m aiming for authenticity. Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated! The gen is fully enclosed. You need to destroy the case.

Ok thanks. I'll keep my gen in my collection and explore your ideas, thanks for the suggestion ~Don’t mess with your gen
Either replace the PE50 with a G10.212 which will give you a close approximation for the 2H subdial (there are several versions of the G10.212)
Or buy a used swatch Irony chrono and scavenge that movement, it’s the same as the gen moonswatch non moonphase
You will need to get new hands but nh35, eta 2836 or vk63 hands will work

I kinda was contemplating a fully working subdials watch since I was ready spending money for good parts and time. Freezing the 2pm dial could do the job for sometime but will bother me long term. But appreciate the idea, I'll surely give it a try -I would add one thing
Try the 2H subdial freeze first.
It costs you nothing, you don’t have to source new hands, and I am pretty sure that after a while you will forget that the 2H is frozen
I wear mine regularly and I never use the chronograph.
A fair concern, I just take solace in the fact that I’ll never be measuring something so precisely as to need a 1/10th of a second chronograph measurement, so I don’t mind it being locked in placeI kinda was contemplating a fully working subdials watch since I was ready spending money for good parts and time. This. I wouldn't either but to know I can, would give me satisfactions and make the end project whole without anything left behindA fair concern, I just take solace in the fact that I’ll never be measuring something so precisely as to need a 1/10th of a second chronograph measurement, so I don’t mind it being locked in place
