I gambled on the Neiton case and as others have noted, the dial doesn’t fit. I designed an insert and 3D printed it to hold it all in place. Pretty happy with the result.

Great job!
We totally need to find an effective way to use these slimmer cases for the projects.

I know the Pladen's largely regarded as lower quality, but thickness-wise it may have potential despite the fact that it doesn't have a screw down crown and screw on back; it's 14.5mm with a gigantic dome, so an $8 crystal swap might bring that profile down pretty dramatically.

Interesting.
Are the rehaut height and the case opening additional question marks?

That looks great! So maybe it does just need the right spacer; that AliX store just reupped on 34mm ones, so I've got an order in.
The 34mm spacer will center the movement, but the dial face is still too small and it won’t sit correctly

Ah, couldn’t tell if it was seated properly or not, didn’t look like you could see the edges / where the dial ends, but I guess that case is still a no-go even with a correct spacer.

Rehaut’s fine, all in all it’s a decent looking watch, it’s just cheap. It even utilizes a PE60 on the stock dial, so no extra movement holder or stem cutting necessary.

The biggest issue seems to be the crapshoot of getting a good black bezel; the one I originally ordered and sent back came with the entire metal bezel (like, the outer, not the insert) being black instead of silver, so the whole thing looked vaguely ridiculous. I picked up a blue bezel insert version which didn’t have that issue at all thankfully, though the shade of blue is fairly bright rather than navy. Theoretically the insert is swappable same as any other with a 38.5mm outer and 34.2mm inner?

The crystal is a whopping 4.7mm thick, 32.1mm wide.

I might try swapping in a thinner 32mm crystal; a 1.2mm thick one for example would theoretically bring the overall Pladen thickness down from 14.5mm to around 11mm?

I haven’t seen a case beat the BLIGER case for the moment. With a crystal change to remove the top hat, it would really nice. I will try this next

Another nice build!

I might get that dial for a customized Alaska project.

Buyer was happy.

the case has good quality, and is nice to work with. It’s on the less thick ones I have built with.
Only thing of note is the sloped bezel insert. I liked it a lot but is not the usual flat speedmaster.
Gotcha.

I wasn't aware that was the case-set used, looks good despite not having a flat bezel and for that price is a no brainer.

Isn’t the Bliger one of the chonkiest ones? Like, 15.6mm overall with a deep rehaut?

Side note it looks like PARNSRP has two flat bezel options too, so the case does definitely accept different bezels.

15mm inc crystal but the ratio of midcase to upcase is nice
I will try to change the crystal next time to see.

The biggest advantge of Bliger is the side case shape on the left. It is goes under the bezel and looks nice.
I have never been shocked by the rehaut.

Also they have very nice inserts

However the PARNSRP case is super nice and slightly thinner indeed

Thanks for measuring! That midcase looks nice, but the under bezel seems way taller than most / gen unfortunately. I wonder if a shorter complete bezel from a different case like PARNSRPE’s would fit on the Bliger midcase..

Re-entering a different price category now, but Watchdives just sorta surprise dropped the black and white 1863 models for $129; it’s a 39mm bezel instead of a 42mm, for any fans of the Speedmaster Reduced with smaller wrists.

Looks like they’ve fixed the 1860 issues and gone back to the successes (and price) of the 1862, though I might wait for their other colorway options to drop since they’re working on some cool FOIS style ones (and at that price point, may as well get a pretty and unique dial and handset out of it too)
