It took a long time, but I finally got it done. One of them at least.

The other is going to have to wait because the movement in it is completely toast - it does weird things even with a brand-new battery:

The chrono hand sometimes moves as the seconds dial.
The Chrono won't start, stop, or reset. Sometimes, the top left subdial turns when the top button is pressed.
When I put it into the case, it would run for a while, then stop when I screwed down the crown.
The hands would rotate on their own.

So I will have to put another movement in it. I did get the snoopy finished though.

This one also required a new movement which also involved filing down the top right pivot to accept the disc and not bow up the dial. That took forever to get it just right. This one's movement was completely DOA - nothing at all.
That sounds like the length of the stem is either too short or too long, so it's not engaging the actual mechanism. Try it with the stem and crown outside of the case and see if it works properly - if it does, then the issue is with the length of the stem in relation to the case, rather than an issue with the actual movement.

I tried that, and it's the same - nothing. I did figure out what the stepping of the other dials is though - it's a function of the PE50 to realign the hands after a battery change.

For the 11.11 sale looks like the Pagani 1701 V6 is gettable for around $65-$70 USD. I'd have to go back many pages I think, but didn't someone here put a DH MoonSwatch into a 1701 case/back/bracelet?
I'm tempted to buy one, if I could verify it fits without too much faffing about.

I have - fairly simple process, just needed a 33mm PE50 adapter from AliX and then cutting a new stem. I paid $70 for mine back in September, so not much of a ‘deal’ there, but it’s worth the price of admission.

Watchdives just announced and released the WD1860 yesterday which they intend to be a Pagani competitor; it’s $89 though, and folks haven’t held one yet to see what the actual differences / improvements are, but I picked one up and will keep everyone posted.

Their WD1862 model is usually accepted as the best VK63 Speedmaster homage to date (I believe the metal case was actually formed from cast of a moonswatch) and it’s got an aluminum bezel rather than the Pagani’s ceramic, their sapphire crystal is better, their bracelet is better, and the dial is better (though the dial doesn’t matter for our purposes). Those retailed for around $130-$140 though and have been out of stock for a while (and apparently aren’t coming back?) and the 1860 appears to use a different crystal and I /think/ a slightly different case to bring the costs down to Pagani level, so we’ll see how they stack up side by side when it arrives. Their aluminum bezel /does/ have the Dot Over 90, which is a nice niche feature for folks who care about that kind of thing.

They’re also working on the WD1863, which is meant to homage the FOIS / Speedmaster Reduced; it should be the same quality (and probably price) as the 1862, but with a 39mm case size instead of 42mm, which’ll be nice for those of us with smaller wrists, but we’ll have to see how the proportions end up looking. The prospective dial designs they’ve shared so far look really nice, including a potential homage to that brand new steel navy looking Speedmaster with the leaf hands Omega brought out last month.

The Pagani is world’s better than the standard AliX VK63 cases btw; I’m just splitting hairs about what the potential /best/ option is.

But I avoid those standard VK63 blanks cause they’re all rather chonky.

This case and Crystal looks miles better than the alix vk63 I used.

Mind sharing where you got it?

Anyone familiar with a sloped bezel inserts from Alix? These inserts make the high dome crystal, seem less pronounced. I've included a photo from a Reddit user. Awaiting DM back..
One on the left looks miles better (and mine looks like the one on the right).

Ever hear back from the Reddit user?

Just found what appears to be the Corgeut case by itself on AliX for $25 (bracelet included):

Has anyone ever tried swapping out chrono pushers? It's a beautiful FOIS-style case (with an accurate thickness of 13.2mm) but those pushers stick out just like 1-2mm more than ideal.

nope but if you find the pushers, tell me please
i will give it a shot

another option might be to grind down the pushers 🤓
i am stupid enough to try that

that said, we are talking about moonswatch metal mods...so a bit of difference is not the end of the world

Seems that Raffles is listing Omega Seamaster PO 20mm bracelets.

They are chunky for a Speedmaster but that’s a good option

How are pushers typically installed/attached to a case? Is it a friction fit or threaded or ?
I suppose the "pusher" itself is spring loaded inside some sort of sleeve, so maybe my question is how is the sleeve fitted into the case?
And is the pusher in any way removable from the sleeve?

Lol true! Will see what I can find. Looking not necessarily for accuracy’s sake, but moreso cause they look wonky protruding that much 😛

On the regular cases they’re pressure fit with a C clip on the inside, so theoretically swappable if we can find the right size
