Hey Que and guys.

Does any of you have experience with the WSO champagne date disc? Is it any good in a Yuki 3135?

Thanks in advance.

No clue but go gen. You'll regret it not doing so in the end.

Dial is a good starting point imho. It makes you want to complete it by the beauty of it.

Agreed. Get the gen dial first and it's real incentive to put your brain in neutral and just start throwing money into the build. Ask me how I know?

To source parts Is the best place Rolex forums? eBay? RWI? Or all of the above? Are their any other sites I need to be aware of

Haha okay. I only have the gen dial and insert in my possession at the moment because my build just started but I'll post pics of everything once I get them in my hands. I'm having Michal build my 16613 because of the great reviews he's had from the boards. I think it's going to be about a $4k build from what I've added, but totally worth it! Can't wait! :D

4 grand is ridiculous money. You know you can get a gen for 5-6? You really think it's worth it to put that much into a rep?

Does anyone have a FULL list of the parts and part numbers needed for a franken 16613 build? I know there are things like retaining ring, crystal gasket, etc. that people leave out on their build lists.

Also, I know the appropriate bracelet is the 93135 or 93235 with 401b end links but will a 78363 bracelet fit?

Hahaha I know it's crazy money for a rep 16613 but I already have the dial and insert that I bought for my old franken MBW 16613 that was stolen from me. I never put them on so I have them sitting in a box.

Gen dial - $350
Gen insert - $150
Gen date wheel - $90
Gen hands - $210
Gen crown - $150

ST 18K gold bezel - $422
ST retaining ring - $39
ST click spring - $3

You're better than half the price of a gen. Sell the dial and insert and put it towards the real McCoy. No rep no matter how good it is beats a genuine Rolex. Just my $.02

http://www.chrono24.com/en/rolex/rolex-submariner-steel--gold-blue-dial--id3810230.htm

I've already purchased most of the items I've listed so it's too late to turn back now. I'll eventually go gen, probably when I can get my hands on a 116613. When I do, I'll sell my franken build as a whole or part it out if needed.

I looked around for a cheap gen 16613 but the ones listed for $6000ish usually are beat up. Although, the one you linked actually looks good compared to what I've found. I'd be leery about purchasing it from a private seller through that site though. I'd also want full paperwork and a guarantee of all authentic parts which a lot of lower priced 16613s don't have. I've heard way too many horror stories.

That may I add is total personal preference mate. I wouldn't throw those statements around like you always do.

I personally would prefer a well built all in Bluesy than a shady gen like the one you linked any day. I've had 8-9k in my first build and I loved it more than any gen I ever had.

Remember you can hand pick the parts and build exactly to your expectations and likings. Which you definitely cannot do when buying a gen. If the money you loose on an eventual sale doesn't hurt you and you enjoy building, I do not see any reason not to build, no matter how much the gen costs or how bad you're breaking in the budget of a gen.
