Thanks to this thread, I worked up the courage to drill holes in a BP case and it came out great.

That’s great bud, I still haven’t plucked up the courage but definitely the final touch to mine that’s needed..
Some builds do come up every now and again on m2m, but it’s not that crazy on a difficulty level If you wanted to build one yourself, I like to tinker with things and wanted to have a go and it’s all pretty straightforward really.. and it’s lots of fun!
The crystal height on this looks amazing.

I used a 3.0 gasket on this case.
Normally it is 2.7mm, which means 0.3 higher.
Personally, I prefer the higher one, so I will leave it as is.
interestingly, when I see 14060 pop-up on M2M, they take longer than the average 5-digits to sell.
Just built a 14060 and people came out of the woodwork. Doing a few more as people seem to want them soon.
I know myself well now. The specific dimensions of the 14060 would drive me nuts trying to match them

I’m gonna just go with a 16610 base and it will be close enough for me.

Really depends on what you are looking for. For me, who doesn't want to do a lot of case work, this is great. Already drilled lugs, thinner all around than the BP 16610 (which I also own, I can do a side by side once the new cases arrive, please remind me in 2 weeks). Visually, obvious flaws of this case include:
- Bezel too thin
- Crown guards not correct, too thick (but drilled holes so that's a plus!)
- Lugs are still too thick compared to gen 14060
I'd question if a gen insert would fit. When I receive the cases, I'll take a look.
