Hi !

This weekend I achieve to print a nice 6538 dial on decal paper.
Dial photoshoped pixel by pixel and printed in high quality.

I made a cross with cutter from the dial back when the decal was well dry. Then pushed with a tooth pick. Loose some ink on the hole edges but it's not serious and the hands should mask it. If not I can reprint at will.

So these would simply be overlays on sterile/blank dials I assume?

Exactly. The decals are transparent, revealing the dial brass.

Hands prepared this morning. Lume removed and hands sanded with 2000 paper.

And some decals print test in black, brown and textured brown.

Dial lumed this afternoon with a mix of nemoto GLL-300F, acrylic varnish, white acrylic paint, and a little bit of Sennelier Terre de Sienne pigment.
Hand sanded and lumed to match.

Quick test in my spare case

Finally Big Dazza dial and hands replaced by my new set.

Unfortunately the decal retracted drying. I'm was too impatient and used an hairdryer. Next time I will let it wet few hours naturally.

Holy hell that is freaking awesome. I've got a 21j GMT II ceramic. I would love to have one of those decals gilt printed and vintage lumed for it - a vintage GMT dial. And a set of gold hands for it and slap it all together in this II case. It would be like the sub HS01. But cooler.

I will improve my skill for this 6538. Then I project to make a gilt dial for my RA 1675. If it's successful I could make one for you [emoji6]
