Just received this watch. I.E ZZF V3 No date black sub
Notes:
Positives:
Rehaut: Engraving alignment is much improved, also polished better than V2 and looks very gen like except under very close magnification where the gen engraving is still cleaner and more precise. Letter shape also improved from V2. Overall improvement
Case: No difference visually
Bezel and insert: No difference visually. Bezel engraving color very gen like
Strap: No difference visually
Crystal: No change visually
SEL: Visually improved and more gen like
Lume: very gen like, lasts all night
Overall finish: Excellent regarding brushing and polishing. Very gen like
Negatives compared to V2
Bracelet: Feels light. (lighter than gen). Edges on links still sharper than gen, especially at the back where its noticeable.
Clasp: Not as good as V2, sharp edges, feels cheap, action is stiff. V2 was a soft click (like gen) to engage. Clasp machining not as good as V2
Glidelock: Very stiff. V2 was better
Crown: Smaller than gen, not sure if they changed this from V2 which I never noticed before
Dial: Looks like the center hole has got a bigger dip again compared to V2. V2 Dial looked better in that regard. V1 we remember had the terrible dents on the markers
Overall:
Very good rep visually, probably the best out of the box. On the table side by side, practically indistinguishable from a gen. In the hand however, with a gen at hand, it feels less 'well finished', a bit rough and sharp edges everywhere and certainly even in a blindfold test, with gen at hand, you can tell the gen from the rep very easily. Not only with the finishing but also where the actual weight is balanced. As I mentioned, the actual strap is lighter than gen so the balance of the whole watch is a bit off.
