That KW 127 is one well put together rep watch. I have both the Noobs 127 and 217 which I bought from the first batch Noob produced and both are in as new condition. I must say tht the KW 127 looks better. Crystal is flawless and the fit and finish perfect to my eyes.

You think the KW looks better than the ZF, or than your first batch Noob? Or both? And why? I'm really into hearing everyone's take on the pros and cons of all of these.

that's a great comparison.
as documented on here before on a thread somewhere and shown in the comparison pics the gen crystal has distortion as well. You can see on some of the pics that there is that "line" distortion that noob used to have but to a much lesser degree, but the V6F line distortion is really bad.

Let's play a game, here's a PIC of my 127, let's see if the differences can be spotted to identify which version it is. :)

Yeah I'm going with ZF, mainly due to what I think you're getting at here and that's the crystal distortion. In the ZF the distortion just stretches the numbers, whereas in KW it creates an actual "break" in the curvature of the digit. But the font thickness and CP are also leaning me towards ZF. Then again, I'm not all that familiar with the high resolution QC pics of the latest Noob version so it could be that for all I know. Anyways, I'm gonna go with ZF for now ...

Here is my ZF 127 in daylight. I love this thing. Crystal distortion looks awesome on this.

I have not looked at the z factory watch. I can say that I have never been disappointed with a KW watch...ever. Fit and finish on all their watches is just superb. The video of the kW 127 shows again a flawless fit and finish and the crystal is definitely better than my noob. If I did not already have a 127 I would go with KW.

I see a Pam127 E V6F on pure-time. Is this the same as what everyone is referring to as KW?

looks like KW might have my money.

What are your reasons for choosing KW? KW seems to take the cake when it comes to font, CP, engravings, and maybe a couple other nitpicks, but it seems like ZF wins in the crystal distortion department hands down. Where the ZF just has distortion that causes a natural "fun-house-mirrors" effect that stretches the numbers, the KW's distortion causes flat out breakage in the numerals. I feel like for me, this carries more weight than all the other flaws, but it's certainly a matter of preference and what you notice most. Anyways, what's your reasoning for preferring KW?

Same question to you Perry, why would you choose KW over ZF? I'm very interested to hear as many opinions on this as possible before pulling the trigger on one.

Just buy whichever in stock they both are decent copies. Personal choice on which features mean more to you.

Each version has its own pros and cons.

honestly, I think at this point other great forum members have done more than their (non) due homework and given us objective points to decide. What else do you need exactly? maybe time to do your own homework and decide for yourself, no? ;)

Do you think both would earn the classification of "super rep"?

No. I think neither would be super rep. Too many flaws on both models.

Just buy one and enjoy it. All these flaws arent that big - no1 will tell except us watch junkies :)

ZF wins this competition to me. Better chrystal and distortion close to gen. Thicker font is closer to gen. Text colour is much better and closer to gen. These are something that can be seen from distance.
Distorition is the most important since no one who knows anything about the watches knows that high-end watches don't have badly distorting chrystal, never. One doesn't need to know anything about this specific model or Panerais in generally to realise that watch is a fake if chrystal is bad. And yes one can see that over the table and call you out...

I took a liberty to correct a white balance of this pic (ZF127). I hope that the owner won't mind.

One of the best piece of wisdom I received when starting in the Rep Game:

Never buy first batch and first version...
