sukwonee you are correct!!

The gen midcase is thinner. You can clearly see a difference in these photos.

It seems there is a slight difference on the upper edge and corners as ALE7575 mentions, and there also seems to be a difference along the lower edge.

This is visible when placed next to each other.

Side by side now, I also notice the gen has a thinner caseback (see caseback edges) , which was not that visible before.

Rep on left.

thorne dude these photos are so priceless. When I am done with work today I am going to take my HFac 005 and compare it against your pics. Thanks again for these.

Here are some pics of the Hfac M-Series case with O-Series CG. I know this isn't relevant for KW vs Gen side by side but thought some may find it interesting to see these. I know ALE7575 previously put together an extensive comparison between KW, Noob, HFac cases.

What I immediately noticed about my HFac is that the... Bottom of the bezel (that shiny ring that goes above and around the case) is taller than KW and gen.
And finishing of SS between the lugs is.... not well done. Also the lugs seem to start lower or maybe more slanted down towards the middle.

But the good part is the CG sits pretty flush with the top of the mid case - more similar to gen than KW.

That is a very good replication, for it’s time .

CG lever tolerances are very tight.

CG is positioned correctly too as you said.

The dial is the correct engraved + filled type.

Is the CG pin too large? The CG pin circle looks slightly larger than it should be. Lug holes seem a little large too.

The CG window/cutout is really good too.

If you transplanted that CG and dial onto an XF005 you’d be cooking with gas!

Lug holes are definitely larger and I am afraid I am going to rip the lug holes one day lol. I switched my screwbars to spring bars (with fake screw heads) for this reason.

CG pin might be a tad bit bigger maybe but looks okay to me.

Here is a better picture. It's very shiny and completely flush to the CG - i.e. Looks great regardless of the accuracy to gen lol

LOL. I also have a HFac O Series case from pam 114 as well. I will try to take some more pics tomorrow in better lighting.

One issue I potentially see is the XF hand lume not matching the HFac dial indices. And my HFac hands are modern style (accurate for M series but not accurate for N and later). I guess I could always relume the XF hands to match the HFac dial.

Matching the lume exactly is extremely difficult even for an experienced lumer IMO.

Maybe the HF caseback would fit the XF case? HF was also supposed to be 1:1 wasn’t it? May be worth a try.

Here is the backcase of HF 005 M series.
I don't like the depth of the engraving, the strange spaces between the numbers in the BB and some of the numbers jumping around each other. (The latter, of course, is already nit-picking)
ZPW0mK.jpg

HF M series, I'm sure, sukwonee will show us. There is the main problem with the logo.

- Both XFs have a "1" problem as you demonstrated.
- The last noob has the wrong circulation of the year, as you noticed again in the P series.
- The previous noob, which was intermediate, I believe had the same engraving quality as 390/911 and has a common quality level with them. (Series N this time had thin serial number fonts, and the engraving looked "superficial" in general.)
- I think the old noob N 005 series will be the best option in terms of caseback, and case in general, most likely.

Yes, I haven’t tried to count all variants of factories by details, but experienced guys say that noob / xf / hf should be interchangeable by casebacks

Here is M series. HFac caseback in general - not the best haha

thorne also I was going to post some O-Series case pics but it's identical to the M-Series. Same flaws. XF case is definitely superior to HFac, imo.

Nice comparative pics thorne again
Thanks for sharing them

But I insist the main difference is the upper curved shape of the mid case cushion, gen is much more curved and for this reason lugs seem to start higer in the gen.
If neccesary I will make some Photoshop with lines.

Nah, definitely not good to go. That OP logo is a dead giveaway, besides many other issues.

Sorry, were you referring to XF or HFac? I know HFac caseback isn't the best lol.

I was referring to the HF caseback logo being crap.
XF caseback is definitely better, though it has some issues too.
Noob got the millesimation wrong on the latest 005 caseback.
So none is ideal at the moment.
