Ride2live I try not to look at a budget when I build unless it is coming close to what it would cost if I were to buy it from a Rolex dealer.

Don't envy me! You'll make me stop posting my builds..... I spent 20 years beating the crap out of my self and forsaking my family to get to the point I am at now. Since I retired from the NYPD, is now when I can actually be here and enjoy stuff like this. I just had a minor back surgery the other day from a car accident that I had at work. It started with one level messed up in my lower back. Like a dumb ass I thought I was superman and could save the city. Can't tell you how many fights, falling down steps, car accidents, I got into. Good thing was for the last 11 years I got to do most of my work with my mind. Homicides and non fatal shootings. I would catch people when they least expect it. Lot less stress on the body! But I did my job and gave 110%. So I have a kick ass pension. I was at LT pay when I retired. So God blessed me. Now I am 45 and have 2 hobbies. Watches and Porsches. Always loved them both. I am also lucky because I get to be a full time dad now. For the first 10 years of my daughters life I was AT WORK. Now she is 13 and has had me home putting her on and off the bus for the last 3 years. I am blessed. I get to meet guys like you guys and sit on this forum and build watches. The sacrifice was too much though. I have had my neck fused and now my lower back need it. I keep going for the little things so I can postpone it but I need to get it done. I am also lucky to have a wife that works. She is a teacher. So don't envy me. God has looked out for me. I would do it all again if I had too. But at the age of 45, I feel like I'm 65. I can't sleep. LOL. Incase you haven't noticed I am on here all the time. Doing crazy hours for 20 years really screwed my sleeping. I am lucky if I get 4 hours of sleep. Then I will crash and sleep for like 9 hours once every 2 weeks.

This is K-Series... With LugHoles and SuperLuminova Dial... I have mostley the Prob to find the right Rolex...
I mean the Gen Rolexes... I am a niet Picker in that :-/
This is for Exsample the Point why I didn't buy the 116710 BLNR

I like the Ceramic but I don't like the New Matrix Rehaut... My AD calls me before Christmas and tells me that he got the Watch for me... I went to the AD and checked it over an Hour or so...

The AD knows me and I think he knows how Complicate I am on this :D lol

My Wife was roll the Eyes already again... And at the End I passed the Watch... I know that i had could make minimum 300,-Eu plus with it, when I had buy her and offer her directley at TRF

But I hate these Guys that do these Deals... Push the market with rare Watches...

I told my AD that he should call the next Guy at the waiting list and he should tell him merry X-mas from me...

So I felt in Love with another nice Watch :) good point is it's much cheaper and my wife got her Jewelery :D

So I go gen at the 16710 again because there is absolutely no good rep Case...
All these Reps sits on your wrist like an 100,-$ Watch...

The GEN have an Perfect size... Hard to explain... But the GEN feels much different...

But this you have at many GEN Watches... It's not only the Brain thing...

My buddy just spent a crazy amount on a platinum Daytona. His AD called him and he took it hook, line and sinker. It is a beauty but he now owns 3 Daytona's. I saw it an it looks like polished stainless to me. LOL. Maybe not but really doesn't do it for me.
zocker4711, I like the classic 16610. That is my favored watch. Then I go to my LV. I rarely wear the 116710 that Mike built me. It sits in my winder. I know for a fact I will wear the 16700 that I am going to build. Just because I like the size of it over the new ceramic watches. The case I got is an A serial number case. It is also a model number 16700 not 16710. So I believe that means it is a GMT and not a GMT II. But the dial I just picked up is a GMT II. I can't find a bracelet for it. I've been on eBay and almost got one but after research it is a fake. I like real bracelets. Like you said. The stainless steel is different on gens. Thanks for all the info and I am sorry if I came off sounding like your watch was cheap. I know by far it isn't because I brought all those parts that you put on that watch. I have a great watch made by a member here. It has a real Rolex spider dial. That will be a gen build, hopefully this year. I have a few lined up already. LOL. God bless and happy new year.

The 16700 is an GMT right... I own an N-Series of that in black with 2 Bracelets :) the one that came with the watch is unworn and the second one I add at the Watch ;)
So the 116710 I like a lot too... But I like the LN mor of it as the BLNR...
But I like only the SL Version I have found out... I had the 116710 and have sell her to an good friend. Then I build me the Frankens. First the SL Franken and after I have wear her a lot again I have build the CL version...
Then I have miss my old GEN soooo much that I had build me the 2nd Franken only for compare and going right at which I should go gen again :)

My choice felt at th SL again... It's much nicer in the Combination... But at the mean Time I have buy and Brand new set of CL Parts for the GEN :D so I can swap them when I am not 100% sure again lol

About the Daytona, the new one I don't like... When it must be an Daytona then only the old ones... But I Personally don't like the Daytona... My Favourit Platin Model is the Presidential Watch with the Blue Dial...
And my Favourit White Gold Model is the 116719 BLRO

I'm with you on Daytona's. I don't own one. I haven't seen any SL's in my Rolex dealer. They just lost their license for Rolex. So now I have to go to Rolex USA or Tourneu. Truth be told, I trust Mike so I see no more need to have any of my Gen's services by anyone else besides Mike. Also TRF has great deals for watches and trusted dealers there too. I am getting a Hulk this year. I brought one from BK, who by the way makes a killer watch. I wanted to see if I would like it or too much green. I actually like it. So that will be my next Rolex that I will buy.

The Hulk 116610 I don't like... I have check her at my AD but not my Watch... I search for an 116719 Insert or Complete Bezel... I want have an Shark :) I missed the 2 or 3 bezels on TRF :-/

The new 116610 i don't like too... Because the same as the BLNR
The new SubC have Matrix Rehaut only Watch where I like that is the SD4k and the DSSD but the DSSD isn't mine...

The SD4k stand at my list :) but first next Gen Project will be the new Tudor Black Bay in Black... I felt in Love with her...

First I had think it will be the Pelagos but the Pelagos isn't really nice... At Pics they look cool but at the wrist it's too light :-/

@occd2, your service to NYC and the security of those who live and pass thru it has taken a tremendous toll on your body, and I respect the courage and perseverance you showed during your two decades of dedication to your duty. My wife has a former college room mate who also retired recently from the police force in the San Diego area, and her physical experiences are similar to yours, and many others who have served along side of you. The cost to each is significant and irreversible. You (and she) have my admiration and my gratitude, but not my envy. My comment regarding envy is towards the flexibility of your budget for these builds, but fully understand the price you paid (and continue to pay) to be in this position. Hope your health can improve now that your body no longer has to produce what your obligations demand of it.

I just took my family to Dairy Queen to celebrate the NY, so I know how valuable and important their support is, and how important is my duty towards protecting and providing for them. It is wonderful that you now get to spend more time with yours, even though this opportunity has come at tremendous cost to you. We on this forum also get to benefit from your time, insights, and comments, and I among many appreciate the time you spend here. May it continue for a long time, as the experience for us here will be richer because of your contributions.

zocker4711 I have benefited in the past and continue to benefit from your postings and observations. Your eye for details on both reps and gens has very few peers. I am glad I have owned and still own some of your creations, and look forward to picking up more pieces in the future.

Like you say, even among gen Rolexes, there are ones that work and others that don't. I hope to one day own a gen 116610LN to go along with the 16710T and the Omega Seamaster Chrono that I enjoy on a regular basis. In the meantime I get to enjoy the posts and reflections of members like yourself and others who enjoy both frankens and gens.
