Now that you mentioned it I start seeing it from the picture, but I don't notice the issue when seeing directly to the watch. (Yup, I still got newbie eyes lol)
IMHO the numbers and fonts are terrible and scream replica - any of the shelf 111H has a better dial than the DSN 111H.
Got my 111H from DSN 4 days ago.....the overall quality is ok....but now I have noticed that I also have got this "thin" crown, not the "fat" one in the pictures from Davidsen....I emaled him about it and he replyed within 24 hours that he will send me a new crown......good customer service but lack of QC IMHO.

I'm still partial to this TTK special-The color on the numbers and indices are perfect (relumed by Ziggy) and the spacing on the Swiss made and 'Six' is spot on. The 'A' would be my only knock on her....

The font on mine doesn't look as bold as it seems. I guess it's the exposure on my cheapy camera. In real life it looks like Star's pic. After looking at my pic again. I think I'm going to sand down my crown guard a bit for a flat look.

Straight out of the box - with out any mods - I can't see how you would choose any 111H other than Davidsens.
Most of the things he does to his watch as it comes "out of the box" like beefy CG, thick crown, Superluminova, raised cannon pin and sword style regulator hand, nobody even comes close to. Hell, they don't even have those things. The other things like the shape of the 2 and the "whiteness" of the lettering or the thickness of the font are not really that huge unless you live or work around people who walk around with a 3X magnifing lens strapped to thier head! Side to side, Gen to Rep - Davidsen's rep gets the job done and unless you are going to dump a bunch of more money into your rep I think the question has been answered very clearly -

I purchased the TWA 177H. I think it is a better value. It comes with the CG fixed, a thick crown, superlume, cannon pin fix, swiss movement, sapphire crystal w/AR and for less than the Davidsen.
Does anyone have input on the comparison between the TWA and Davidsen watches?
TWA is also US based, easy to deal with, very quick and good with PM/Email. I am very happy with the communication so far. I also contacted several of the modders on this forum and they all agreed that the TWA was a good choice.
When I get it I am going to get the dial text stained and possibly get the whole thing relumed to change the color slightly...(we'll see after I get it)

Give me a break, Pal, you are paying to "Mod the Shit out of it", up front. So out of the box is BS. $350.00 for all those flaws, No Thank you. Skinny little Crown is out of the box, squished L Swiss Made L, out of the box. Screwed up font and dial, out of the box, and probably (Based on my DSN 005 and 177) 2nd rate lume, right out of the box and a sandwich dial that is minus one piece of bread, right out of the box. But of course this is just nitpicking and attention to detail has no place on this forum (As If). Get real and get Objective!!

The dial is the most crucial detail on any replica, if it is not spot on I don't even bother looking at other details....
