A few days ago jwizzar posted the question "Who's 111h". Davidsen came out on top and it was a nice thread discussing the differences of the 111H's available to us. I mentioned that I had ordered a couple of 111H's from Davidsen and would post a follow up - Here it is:

Let's start with a check list:

High quality Gen strap and buckle - yes
Lug strap screws with tubes - yes (new for Davidsen)
Sapphire crystal front & rear - yes
Case finish & fit true to Gen - yes
Light AR coating - yes
Super luminova (hands and dial match) - yes
Raised cannon pin - yes
Fat crown guard - yes
Nice crown - yes
Correct thickness on Sandwich dial - yes
Nice accurate font - yes
Correct case markings - yes
Cut out on case for thick strap -yes
Extra 24mm strap with Panerai logo engraved on buckle - yes
Extra spring bars in case lug screws strip - yes (these are the right ones!)
Swiss 6497 Movement - yes
Cotes de Geneve bridges -yes
Working Swan Neck regulator - yes
AND FOR THE MOST IMPRESSIVE SUPRISE:
DAGGER STYLE NEEDLE AS PER GEN IN SWAN NECK REGULATOR - YEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HOLY SH!T This is one heck of a rep!!!! For a second I thought Davidsne sent me two gens - I am not kidding. These are by far his best to date.
Only two minor issues for me:
Floppy CG lever and crown is a tiny bit thin in appearence - that is it! These watches are near perfect - totaly amazing - WOW!

Now for some pictures: (sorry for the quality, but you will get the idea)
The twins arrive:

Did someone say Sandwich Dial?

The backside:

Did someone say Swiss ETA? (if you look close behind the balance wheel you can see the ETA logo)

Oh, and did I mention LUME:

That is a much better looking sandwich dial than the last batch!

I agree with you 100% - I had one from the last batch too and the dial looked more like a sausage dial than a sandwich dial! I think the top dial was made too thin...

I think it is just the camera settings. The lume looks normal in person. Also, I didn't say anything earlier, but the lume shot was taken about ten minutes after I exposed the dial to light and the room was no where near blacked out when the picture was taken. The lume is VERY good on these two!

Is the lume blue?

I checked again - it is most definetly GREEN and it glows like a torch.

I don't know why the picture has that blue tint to it?

And, I gotta ask, why two?
Two you ask - just two! This is number seven and eight from Davidsen for me!

Truthfully, one is for my son and one is for a friend...

Am I going crazy? I don't think the crown looks thick enough... well at least as thick as I though DSN offers.

I love the movement :) Nice watch!

I'm kinda sadden... :(

The dial looks totally wrong to me.

1. The indices are too fat and are placed too far out to the edge.

2. The six looks old school.

3. Top slice is still not thick enough. It's getting better though along with the surface.

4. Font spacing is wrong.

The movement looks awesome! Looks Swiss to me. I like. The crown should be hugging the case and maybe too thin for this model.

Sorry OP I don't mean to be rude. These are the first images of the new dial so I had to do a critique.

I noticed that in some of the pictures the crown looks REALLY thin. Look at the picture that shows the Sandwich dial -the crown looks really fat there - go figure. The crown is definetly on the thin side, but not as thin as the pictures make it look. It can be better for sure, but it is not as bad as some I have seen.

You forgot that the fonts too white...

The things you have listed have been beat to death in numerous other posts. Give it a break - you are talking about micrometers - for cry'n out loud. I have to agree with someone else, I don't remeber who and in which Davidsen bashing thread it was, but I have to wonder if the super critical people who try and point out the minutia in the Davidsen "flaws" are just comparing 3x blown up pictures or if they have ever held a Davidsen Rep side by side to a Gen.

I have compared Davidsens watches side by side to a Gen and trust me - you would have to be Clark Kent to tell the differences!
