What I didn't know is that when titanium is ground, a small firework is created.

I was nervous.lol

The only point that is not yet completely clear is the thickness of the midcase.

The Bumblebee is generally thicker than an SS ROO. The measured values are between 14.8mm to 15.3mm.

An acquaintance had the gene Ginza 7, he said the midcase is 6.9mm (SS is 6.4mm).

My Bumblebee midcase is currently 7.0mm.

And the Watch will be finished about 14.7mm thick.

It would be wonderful to have a second reliable measurement.

It makes sense that the midcase of the Bumblebee is a bit thicker than the normal ROO's, because the Chrono Pusher is completely embedded in the material and does not have a cutout on top like the normal ROO's.

Maybe Legend can help here?

Thanks tinitonsi. I already have a shaved Diver Caseback with DLC but then I was able to source a light Titanium Caseback for the Bumblebee also DLC coated.
Will post later.

The last one is great and your best option indeed. I always forgot you’re the king of coating ;)

When I made a Franken BB, I decided to keep the rep midcase as it was (it should have the same gen thickness +/-). The difference is in the caseback. Hence why I decided to use a DLC diver caseback. Check the pic below, you’ll see how the brushed and the polished parts of the caseback have almost the same mearements (highlighted in blue and red)

Thanks again tinitonsi,

I also think you should leave it that way. Caseback at the Rep is incredibly thick. Terrible

Next step. The carbon is hard and ready for a new hole.

I think I will give the Gen Hublot Movement a second chance to live in a beautiful watch.
(sorry, I couldn't suppress that sentence).

flying-tommy this step by step journal of your build is great. What Hublot movement is this?

However, there will now be a break. Hopefully at the end of next week the new Gen hands will arrive.

First lite franken AP in the works - 14790 short indices white dial.

Inspired by majwilliams's vintage AP build, I managed to find the old BP 14790 & a slightly used white dial on Chrono24. Waiting for deliveries before sending it to Legend for the works.

LOL at your comment towards the Hublot donor movement— As if the mere fact that you were using Hublot donor movements wasn’t already enough of a slap to Hublot owners!

There are people who enjoy Hublot, and people who appreciate AP. One is a fashion conglomerate-owned brand that fittingly had its origins as an overpriced fashion watch, now trying to play catch-up, the other is an independent marque with historical significance now being transformed into a fashion watch brand.

Sure was only joking. In Germany we called it “black Humor”.
Like some Hublots but much more AP’s......
