Or they are doing a clone movement or it has no sense to do this … why not doing them for Miyota?
Thousands vs. some couples ?

2121 movement is a very old JLC movement, probably archaic but the level of complexity, the number of components, the thickness and the craftsmanship needed is really relevant. Don'y see any chance for a clone mvmt. Hoping to be wrong.....but.....

For anyone interested on 15202 build, buff is producing hands :
the downside is that they can not be used on miyota, gen k2121 movement is necessary (cost around 4k)

A nice 15202 build is:

Xf 15202+k2121+hands, dial is normally avoided as the cost is crazy (9-10k for sure)

From where can a K2121 be sourced?

I found a 15202 white dial and hands for $1.6k long time ago lol. Wonder what it sells for now.

Not somewhere particular

They pop up on bay-chrono from time to time, try ask our trusted watchmakers like interactiv-Nikz if they can source one

I have a 26400 in the works. I'm missing pusher guards. Would the guards from a replica fit a gen case?

Yes they will fit but the rep hexagonal screws that attach to the gen case need to be modified because the gen threads are a lot smaller. It's doable but i suggest keeping with the rep case for a 26400 build. Using a LWO283 movement in a gen case creates a gap between the dial and the tachy that is noticeable. What movement do you have on the project currently?

Speaking of 44mm ROO frankens I recently gave mine an update. See if you can spot the difference. (Not the chrono hand misalignments)

Just to sidetrack a little, is the crown a tad too small or slanted downward? It looks rather off on the watch but could be the angle.
To be honest your watch just needs a gen caliber and it will be rather respectable. This is a platinum model and of course the weight will be way off but this is one of the very few 44mm ROO frankens in the hobby and as much maybe it deserves a separate thread for our appreciation of the build journey.
All the best and hope you enjoy the watch well sir.

Crown guards are the totally wrong shape and aren’t even identical. You’re probably seeing a combination of that and the replica crown. I removed the gap between the tachometer and dial. It was terrible and almost made the watch unpleasant to look at but now it’s no more and makes me happy to wear.

Not sure if you thinned the crystal gasket to achieve that but if you did, then it is exchanging one blatant flaw for a more subtle one. Crown guards may be wrong, crown may not be correct, movement may be an LWO, but it won't change the fact that for a franken AP, it will look good as a watch. It is entirely up to you to put the finishing touches and refinements on it the way it pleases you. I am happy to see improvements made on it, do continue to share. Thank you.

Thanks for your support, Al. You are correct in that I did make the bezel gasket thinner because the height of the gap was just too much for me and I finally had to do something. Not a “fix” in this case as you pointed out but it’s definitely not looking like the watch face was sinking inside and sometimes obscured by the tachy ring. For me the 44mm offshores always had extremely tall bezels and if I had one preference it would be to make them less pronounced kind of how this watch now looks. Sort of a coincidence that the franken 44mm offshore I have has a smaller bezel height lol. Hopefully now it won’t bang against objects as often.

This hobby isn't about perfection as we all know. It is about creating a watch we can enjoy at a personal level and I see you putting in effort just to do that and share your efforts, thank you for that! Hopefully it will inspire others to do the same. The 44mm is a chunky watch no doubt, but I believe yours has a sleeker profile now with what you have done. As long as you are comfortable wearing it, I think it is a good watch for you. If you can, do create a separate thread for your watch journey from parts procurement to assembly to enhancements.. I do believe there are others here wanting to do the same build and a dedicated thread can be helpful for everyone seeking to do the same!
