A person who would drift into their local biker bar, then promise and not deliver after making off with cash, is as wise as a person doing the same here. Ever so many variables…If some guys had paid out significant sums, gotten this kind of service, then been ghosted, by now they would have been off on a journey, and putting the door in at 3 am to collect the debt, (or worse), that's the real world !!
The sense of sterile anonymity giving many a sense of insulation when they use the internet does much for showing us who people are when they think they might scam or otherwise do the wrong thing without consequences.
It’s the same as when dealing with a fully fledged online business - I’m reasonably sure that people who tell mum and dad ecomm business vendors that their goods never arrived or the box was empty would lack the balls to try a “short change” scam or anything else at a cash register face to face.
