I would put it on a big gold rope chain and wear it hanging around my neck.

When it comes to ADs/Boutiques, it is generally consdered inappropriate to wear a rep in to one of those establishments. I'm not saying I haven't done it before, but that is just because I'll have a watch on my wrist when I stroll in and dont really think about it at the time. But then again I am also not flashing it around and trying to get my watch noticed. But its not something I prefer to do...

And while I do generally agree with looks/dress can probably get a different reaction at an AD/Boutique, I remember going in to a local AD in the mall wearing baggy cargo shorts, a comic book tshirt, and dirtyish vans and buying my gen Corum Romulus from them years ago. And then a few months later going to another AD dressed quite similarly with the watch on my wrist and ordering a gen croc strap with gen deployment buckle ($750....looking back on it I was dumb after seeing all the gorgeous custom straps for much less). I was treated very respectfully at both ADs. The dress is one thing but AD/Boutique employees can generally judge their clientele appropriately and decide from the first minute or two who is seriously looking to purchase from them. The majority of visitors to these types of shops are window shoppers...

Nah man, if you're gonna wear a rep into an AD then you gotta flash it like you own the place! And demand a glass of scotch while you shop. If you're gonna do it - go all out.

Dont forget slappin' the ass of every cute sales rep in the shop. Its the only way to roll with a replica of a $30k watch on your wrist.

Just make sure it´s a Fiddy and who knows?
They also will not care if You´re going to buy one of theirs from stock, which You should.
About not taking it off? Well, the Ad´s I go normally at least clean the watch while You try out others or just offer to clean it - would be strange to refuse - so its almost certain they will know unless You just enter and exit the store in a hurry.

I think one thing that is rarely mentioned is that many people buy a rep first and then love the feeling of it so much that they save up for a gen or two. Thats exactly what happened with me. I have a number of reps of pam and iwc. After some time i ended up with a gen of each brand. I think sales staff likely realise this.

The intelligent staff will not see this as a major affront though some obviously will. Its not really a direct threat to their livelihood in my opinion. its a lot the same with the whole clone business in general where companies like gucci claim they are losing millions due to the sale of rip off gucci bags. Its not like some office girl in bangkok or taipei is going to spend 6 months salary on a handbag.

As with a lot of things, as stated above, its how you carry yourself. If you show up in the boutique and look like you belong you will be treated with respect and assumng the rep is reasonable and not rattiling and leaving a trail of parts on the floor you wont have an issue.

I heard the other day here in Los Angeles, that in Beverly Hills, the AD's have installed panic red buttons and sirens [with flashing lights] in case someone walks in a again flashing a Rep. Some older Mom & Pop AD's have even resorted to wearing heavy frying pans on their belts, just in case. .............. so, ahh.........off with the Rep. for me when its browsing time !!

i didnt know that lol
in my area i think i would personally get away with it..
asians are associated with drug money and gangs etc..so they would assume i would be buying one and paying in cash only
hell both my neighbours across the street have a box of gen watches they paid in cash lol
guess statistics dont lie ^_^

again..thats my area ^_^
i buy gen bags and wallets and thats the treatment i get from boutique stores...ps im clean i dont do anything illegal so dont pm me asking!

I wear whatever I want, anywhere.

Employees can either treat me with respect or lose the sale.

ADs don't want the watches; that's why they're selling them.

That said, I don't window shop. I don't care about their time, but I won't waste mine, and they also benefit. If you're a salesman, you're welcome.

If I'm there, it's for business.

If I was going to wear a rep into a PAM boutique, it'd be of a different brand watch. They see you walk in wearing a TC Sub, first off, they could never tell it's a rep and, secondly, they would think you really mean business sporting a Rolex.

It's all about money.

I'd be more interested in finding out how much money it'd take to get rhem to wear not only a rep, but also a gorilla suit, and have them dance for me while I browse the store.
