Sorry, now i see the question; my chinese contact, the same that supplied me the arf with vr3235.
But did not do the swap yourself, and I think that question was more “how” than a “can”

You didn’t search at all, because it’s been touched on so much it’s probably one of the most frequently used words in the forum (and rep world for that matter)
Frankenstein (or franken watches) are rep watches with modifications using genuine parts.

I recently got a vsf sd43 modded with inside the whole arf v4 movement block(dial, hands, 2824).
I prefered the 2824 solution because the hours setting is exactly as gen 3235 but it's much more reliable than vs3235 that remains a really good movement.
I had in past the first arf, an arf v2 and arf v4(really great) but i was never really satisfied talking in general, except for the bracelet that as already judged as the best.
Talking about this VSF in general i can say that it's a really well done rep and i prefer it to the other arf owned.
Off course we can't talk about gen spec but here we are really close.
For example, a thing that i've never read before is the helium valve color that i prefer on vsf instead of arf.
I like everything about it but there was a thing that i couldn't leave with, the cyclop magnification.
The vsf crystal in my opinion is great:
-gen like edge
-smooth surface(gen like if you handled a gen crystal it's easy to notice).
-cyclop shape
-cyclop ar
-cyclop edge
Anyway the magnification was +1x off.
As i didn't like to spend 600€ for a gen crystal i wanted to save the stock one and enhance the performance of it.
I thought, i have to ask to my watchmaker to shave the crystal gasket a bit in order to reduce the crystal/dial distance to get a reduction of magnification.
Said, Done.
What we have discovered:
The crystal was already really close to the edge of the rehaut so the gasket couldn't be shaved as desired. Useless action.
It has been shaved to the limit in order to keep safe the waterproof and to keep the crystal as close as possible to the dial.
Following the result.
I can guarantee that in real life it's less magnified as it seems in pics.
Off course, i can't say that it is now gen like but 100€ mods instead of 600€ + 50/80€(work) mods it's a good balance between results and money spent.
Hope this can help who has the same issue.

What do you mean exactly?
Such a shame that vsf doesn't fix the cyclops problem.
Be careful of the seasalt, those little spheres get rusty.
I mean that 2824 movement has the same hands adjust direction as 3235 during the hours setting.
Crown forward, hands anti-clockwise.
Nonetheless this 2824 flip the date exactly at midnight without starting the movement of the dateweel from 10pm as we see on old 2824 models.
The main reason why i prefer the 2824 is off course for its stability and repairability but that's a personal taste.
The mods done above is a "cheap trick" to avoid the gen crystal reducing the cyclop magnification.
Overall it's a good result.
There is also the best way to fix the issue and to improve a aesthetically the watch but it couldn't be nice for everybody despite i'd like to do it...REMOVE THAT FUC...G CYCLOP!
The professor's crystals improve the VSF and it is closer to gene?
Regarding the bevel, the color of the numbers is close to gen or are they whiter in gen? I seemed to notice that in some images.
Another question, are these VSF ceramic bezels resistant to sea water?
If I have the watch waterproofed correctly and I get it wet, do they tend to discolor or are they quality ceramic?

Yep mate i know.
I meant 2824 is easier to fix and less expensive in case of issues but obviously the vs3235 is the best 1:1 solution
And faster, and smoother. The 2824 vs VS3235 argument can only be made for parts availability. Otherwise, the VS3235 is a far superior unit to the clone 2824. Wait until you have keyless issues on that 2824 and have to go to gen ETA to correct.
The VS3235 is a workhorse that happens to be smooth as butter and is easy on the eyes. Part availability is nonexistent however.
Yep i know as i have that movement on my vsf 126610 and i had it on vsf dj41,vsf ym42.
Anyway it wasn't the focus of the topic

And that is the exact reason why I chose to go with the 2824 version and swap it to a gen ETA from a well known luxury brand's service center for my (light) franken build (gen Crystal and maybe Gen bezel insert)
For me the fact that a well known and reliable movement runs inside my franken that can be serviced easily and without part availability problems just gives me some piece of mind with it.
However If I had a sub project going on, I would have gone the clone way as it is way easier to source parts for the 3135 and you can franken everything else way better (dial without cutting feet/hands without mods/case without stem height issues and so on)
