I’m sure you’re going to deny this, but I will remind you how easily these crack when being removed improperly.

In any case, I'm pretty sure it was my watchmaker who cracked the insert, it certainly wasn't seawater. But if he doesn't tell me anything in bad faith ..... I checked some previous photos though, and some cracks were already there. At this point I hope he won't crack the ones I sent him as I specifically asked him to use bezel arf and insert vsf. You who talked about improper ways can you tell me which would be the best method, or is it just manual skills?

The safest is the red Horotec 4 tooth bezel tool, but manually done gently will work also.

Even the ones that look like pliers with a circle at the end can start it, but you can’t go too far due to the click springs.

Is the crystal better/clearer on the new VSF version compared to the XF?

Between the XF and the VSF which one would you go for?
I am new in the rep game and want my first Rolex SD, considering either the XF or the VSF but can't decide
I was ready to go for the VSF until I saw that the VSF version seems to over magnify the date window and now I feel I am back to the drawing board again

Any thoughts?

The VSF is mainly the XF with updated Dial (correct serif) and clone movement!
It really depends on what is important for yourself… I got the XF and I’m absolutely happy with it. What bothers me the most, is the missing serif if you see my posts there are some wristies of the XF

Just read through the thread again and again (and again) to try and decide on my next buy.

I am even more confused now!
I wouldn't consider the ARF previously, but for some reason, now I do!
It might be the fact that it seems like a better watch in overall? SELs are better? Clasp and bracelet is superior to the XF and the VSF?
I am literally so confused now...

Would honestly like to hear your thoughts - the fact that the 2824 movement broke down in two occasions also puts me off

yes I can feel it well - often the confusion appears after getting more information
You could also get an ARF bracelet separately as example…

But again, the cyclops on the VSF does over magnify and it is very obvious, so the issue will still be there even if you put the ARF bracelet, unless you swap the crystal to a gen one.

What downsides the ARF has on the other hand?

After a long time spent observing the vsf with 20x lenses, the Chinese assembly with arf pieces and several video review of the original one, I came to the decision of which pieces to use to have a better one, with at least one compromise, also because for now it's all theoretical, but the watches are already at my watchmaker's.

VSF caseback (hope can fit cause the engraved of other one is horrible).

The gen xtal makes such a great difference. Can't wait to get mine installed on my ARF, altogether with a GEN ETA.

I agree, but I actually like the VSF lug taper more than the ARF V4 taper.

Gen crown is needed too. And I feel like the ARF dial is the better dial, but can’t use it on the VSF without hurting it.

I think the VSF is the best insert there is. I’d make use of that before an aftermarket one.

I understand swapping the bezel itself but making the VSF insert of use to me makes the most sense.
