Yesterday my Smurf finally arrived, and I have to say I’m 99% pleased. The microscopic Rehault spacing issue isn’t even visible from more than 2 feet away, nor does it really matter in the grand scheme of things.
Bezel looks beautiful, and functions with the same force as genuine. Even the clicks sound gen.
Bracelet feels incredibly high quality. No sharp edges on the bracelet at all. The clasp opens and closes perfectly. Not stiff at all. The polishing on the clasp also looks high quality. The glide lock was a little stiff but once I cleaned out a little dirt from the track with some water on a q-tip and worked it back and fourth it was PERFECT.
I was curious how accurate the movement would be so I timed it against my Genuine 16570 polar for reference, and after 18 hours in the watch box they both kept the exact same time. It was kinda cool watching their second hands dance in sync every time
I checked on them.
The date wheel is also perfect compared to my gen, the numbers look nice and crisp. Maybe under a loupe you could see something, but my 20/20 vision says they look mint.
The ONLY issue I have with this watch is the dial colour. Someone mentioned it earlier in this thread and my rose-tinted glasses stopped me from considering it.
The dial colour IS darker than gen. And when you are looking at it on the wrist, the dial IS darker than the ceramic bezel. It barely shows up on camera (maybe because everyone is posting pictures from perfect angles), but in real life you can see it clear as day. The only time I don’t see it is when I’m outside in natural sunlight. But inside when I wear it around the house I can see that it’s darker, and honestly it so heartbreaking. It wasn’t noticeable in the QC pictures, and it wasn’t noticeable before. But now that I have it on my wrist that’s really all I keep noticing and its frustrating.
Granted, you’d really never know it unless you saw how a genuine Smurf dial and bezel were supposed to look. But for those that know, you’ll see it.
In conclusion, I think the watch is definitely worth the money. 600cad is peanuts to have something THIS DAMN GOOD out of the box. And it doesn’t feel like a watch that’s worth only 600 bucks, it FEELS high quality in your hands. But I think until someone comes out with a colour perfect dial that I can swap onto this watch, I’ll be hanging onto my my gen explorer for wearing around my other Rolex buddy’s.
