It does appear to move correctly through a 24 hour period so I guess if they can fix some other errors it might be ok. Sub dial is a more flat colour on the gen and I guess the cg and clasp can be polished but would g3 better to arrive that way. Thanks KS and the gen owner too for his pics.

Have you watched KS's video? The GMT hand runs parallel to the hour hand. This is not correct. This is how the P.9001 works, not 7750.
7750 does not have an independent hour hand. But it has a quick date setting.

Well, no rush. Trusty says and announces a 7750, usually working on a 24h cycle with GMT feature. Vidz here show a different movement option with 12hrs round. Let's see what I'll get once delivered, and decide if Andrew was that trusty on this one LOL.

Here are pictures of my gen R series 088 for reference. Note that the CG is polished while the CG lever is brushed.

True, I've never noticed that, interesting. Another gen pic from C24 for reference.

Very nice 088 by the way!

Could you also take a Pic of the watch when you receive yours in that exact angle? I am curious about the CG placement (vertical) on the new reps. From a few pics I saw of 111 and 005, the CG seems to be placed a tad bit too low.

Thanks for the compliments. I also notice that the lug holes of the rep version are drilled much closer to the lug edge than the gen.

I sure will. On top of what we can find on internet, thanx to the gen owners here, I should have good references for a vs and a review.

Lots of interesting information and good learning.

Here is some feedback:

I have handled 3pcs.

All had the same movement...with function as per the video I posted above.

For what it’s worth, The VSF stockist said that there is only 1 movement option, which they call “24hrs cycle”

The reason being is that the gmt hand goes around “24hrs” in sync with the hour hand (as per the video I posted). It seems this functionality is called 12hrs cycle here.

Remember also the language barrier and the fact that stockists are not typically watch enthusiasts, so easy to confuse meaning of 12hrs cycle vs 24hrs hour cycle. I had no idea what this means until I read about it here.

If I get a second next week, I’ll compare VSF with my old Noob, however I can tell you new that the Noob wins on looks (the movement is not an issue for me since I don’t use GMT).

So overall seems like a bit of a flop from VSF. That’s my impartial opinion - given that I sell them lol

Well if Noob wins on looks then it also wins on function as the Noob has a proper 24hr GMT on it. Still would like to see a side by side between the two factory releases though. Thanks for the impartial opinion. :)

Heard that too, but can't find and solid proof, will keep looking. But I don't really believe it :)

If the CG is a huge issue its an easy fix with the correct new spare parts( REP or GEN ) Having checked several 100 pics of the GEN PAM00088 I cant find a single one with a brushed CG.

If you are called out on it why not just state that you asked your AD to change it to to avoid scratches.

For the CG thing I just ordered an aftermarket fully polished case on the Bay to use it's CG, while I wait for Trusty's delivery.
It's a cheap and risk-free start to try to solve the "brush gate" episode on these VSF 088.

I don't agree with letting errors like this become acceptable. Change a part on a watch you haven't even received yet? Especially something that has been done correctly by another factory? An "easy fix" but not a free one (see mrsullivan's solution, he'll have the correct CG but then he'll have an extra case which for most people they would have no use for). As for the second suggestion, I would rather avoid that exchange entirely, frankly speaking.

I can only agree with the above. It is a clear miss by VSF here, making the TDs bullsh*tting us on top of that to sell it. No hard feeling here toward Trusty or other TDs, personally I could have rejected the watch, but it throws a bit of bitterness in the deal for all of us waiting for the return of solid Pam GMTs.

Still, I accepted the watch as I find interesting to hold it in hand and check it's specifications, the good and the bad ones. And as unacceptable it may be to swap parts upon buying, it's a thing I accepted when approving the watch. So I'm actually impatient to get it and try to upgrade it, according to the PAM specialists's advices here.

To be continued ;-)

I would prefer the correct CG but have absolutely no problem accepting a brushed one ( for the time being ) I have been wanting the 88 for years. Furthermore most of the REPs we discussed here have dial, case, movement, strap & x-tal imperfections vs GEN.
