I’ve quite enjoyed my CF in the few months that I’ve owned it. That said, my eyes are super colour sensitive so I frankened mine with a gen dial because the pinkish lume irked me, and I’m a bit OCD when it comes to lume colour. I’ve also never held a gen or seen one in person so I have no real comparison.

I was also lucky with my VSF having almost perfect rehaut alignment all the way around the dial and the bezel action is also quite nice to me - again I have no idea how the gen bezel actually feels.

Currently I’ve got my VSF with a CF bracelet on it and it’s fantastic - I Oliver it like this. If you can afford to do that combo then great. Otherwise you can’t go wrong with either option. They’re both beautiful watches and super comfortable to wear!
Thanks man! I guess I will go with VSF 114060, the movement is better and I guess worth the 75USD premium to the CF sub.

Has anyone experience of slipping feels when manually wind up the VS3130?
Such feel didn't exist when it was new.
In case it dies, are there any alternative 3130 clones available? And will they fit the VSF case, dial and hands?

I’ve noticed that, it keeps doing it. It kinda died on me once, now it just slips

Does it mean the manual winding is dead?
KJ2020 Do you have any idea on this issue?

I would try lubing the yoke for sliding gear and the intermediate crown wheel core. It's those parts that are not working right to allow the yoke to move into place against the ratchet wheel for manual winding. It that doesn't fix it, different parts can be scavenged off another 313x rep and tried. VS 3135s and 3235s have this issue more than others and more than they should.

I've brought a couple of these back to life with some generous lubing, but I think these few VS parts are not great.

Cheeky, touchy CF fanboy. I know exactly what I’m talking about. The picture directly above this post shows exactly what I was saying, the CF case sides are (were) too straight.

Back at you.. You have no idea what you are talking about ..and you talk about it too much.

Yes I know they are straighter than gen / VSF but you took my words out of context. I was saying the pic shown was not that unicorn correct CG CF case they've been like this from the beginning with slanted sides though yes not like gen /. VSF.

Not that into CF would take VSF 116 and 114 any day over CF.

Though I still have 2 CF subs bought a year ago one is now a superfranken 114060 but I couldn't get over the CG's and all modders are so busy to get the case changed to something better so I kind of said heck with it to my self and bought a gen 114060.

Is the "dumb bell" shape part the yoke?
Something I don't quite get is why lubbing these gears will resolve the slipping issue?

In a Rolex service page, the items are named in order of assembly. So the diagram then looks reversed because the items are shown bottom to top.

The sliding yoke in the VS movements commonly sticks, sometimes intermittently and eventually completely. Open a caseback or observe on an uninstalled movement how the yoke works when manual winding occurs. If the yoke sticks, it's gear will spin freely, not engaging the ratchet wheel. This is the slipping you described.

Here is a video showing the yoke for sliding gear in action when I had this issue on a VS3235

https://vimeo.com/518701509

PW 126

The yoke causes the sliding gear to disengage from the ratchet wheel in stem positions 2 and 3, and engage the ratchet wheel in stem position 1. When the yoke isn't sliding properly, the gear doesn't engage when it should.

Thanks for giving the insight mate! Apparently this is a common thing with the VS3130.
In general the VR3130 seems a more solid movement what I read here and there. Is the premium for the VS3130 even worth it?

VS will take more gen parts but if you aren't going that route I'll take a VR. Plenty of VS are problem free and if you get one great. I've swapped a troublesome VS for a VR though and will do it again if necessary.

Yup agree. In general, is the VR3130 a long time proven movement? Or this it also have kind of typical issues like the VS3130 what you previously described?

I've never seen this particular issue on any VR. Of course lack of proper lubrication is common on all rep movements so anything can happen.

Can you purchase VR movements? If I wanted a simple watch experience should I go for a CF and swap out the VR or pay $300 for a full servicing? Or should I get a VS and pay $300 for servicing?

KJ2020 Thanks for your inputs
In the case of the VS slipping issue, will just lubrication solve the problem? Or would it be necessary to replace the yoke instead?
In case of the VR3130, it is the Shanghai made model?
Cheers

Seems that the VR3130 is in general the more problem free movement..

Sometimes just lubing both parts fixes the issue, sometimes it doesn't. I've had to scavenge the parts off another movement. Any other factory 3135 base parts can work, including 3185/6. Lots of dead SH3186s around, haha.
