Thank you so much for this. I am learning so much. To untrained eyes like mine, this is hard to spot. Could you also explain what is wrong with the CG on this model?

on the rep the CG are a bit smaller than gen. Also the crown is a bit long than on the gen. So then it appears that the crown protrude out more than on the gen. This all very slight and can only be noticed from certain angles. For me not a serious tell. They corrected it on the NTTD titanium model

Thank you, you're awesome. I can kinda see it via pics but not easy to spot as you mentioned. Once the lockdown is over, I gotta go see one of these in person at rhe AD.

Pretty sure it is because the factories don't necessarily tell the TD's when something is discontinued or unavailable any more so it would become quite time consuming.

They are lazy and probably don't think it is worth the effort.

Also, TDs have told me several watches were no longer available, but they are still showing in their websites after months/years.

so those bits in the SEL on the rep is rounded, and not flat and the same shape as the bits in the rest of the bracelet. The gen has those bits the same. Quite the eyesore once you notice it, lol
Got it, thanks so much...that's a real shame.

you are not wrong about the difference. No idea why they decide to do stuff like this...

Sorry to call you out here. But I gotta call BS here.....
I strongly disagree with this statement. I bet if you gave both gen and rep to 100 people without a loop and gave them 10 minutes to come up with any differences not one would see this one. It is VERY subtle and is next to impossible to see without a loop. Even with a loop and knowing it it there most people would scratch their head and say "I don't see it, tell me again what exactly I am looking for?"

As proof, I took pictures of this area in question with a really nice macro lens and under extreme magnification and even then it was hard to see. Pretty sure I posted pics somewhere in this thread, but I suppose I could dig them up and post again if necessary.

Something that can't be seen by most people even with a loop can hardly be described as "quite an eyesore".....
furthermore even if you have a 10x magnifier in your everyday glasses and somehow can't see past this, the issue can 100% be avoided by putting the watch on the rubber strap.

i hear you. Should have frazed it differently. Is quite the eyesore for ME. Not all about being called out. I know no one will call me out, nor do I care of they do. My reps are for my own pleasure. The moment i noticed the flaw in the SEL it became something my eyes would focus on unfortunately. I just cannot avoid seeing it, and for me it looks WAY out of place. Definitely not something you would get called out for.

the logo seems to be off center, on the left ?? a new flaw ?

It does.

Nooooooo now they have the same flaw like on the ceramic version.
Why vsf makes such great watches and then randomly come up with this stupid obvious flaws?
The lume is fixed but the dial is a bigger problem now. Only thing left to do: practice patience.

I know lume color is/was a big issue.

One question I have is - is the gen supposed to have C1 lume? Or is it supposed to be even whiter than C1?

The reason I ask is, I have a Pam 114 that uses C1. Comparing 114 to my SMP 300m, the lume color looks almost exactly the same. Both watches have white lumes 99% of the time, but at certain angles and lighting conditions, I can see slight Yellow/green-ness.

If the gen lume is supposed to be c1, I really feel like we may be over-worrying ourselves.

I took a Pic of each under same lighting and zoomed in.

I guess I do see a bit of difference when I did this but to my naked eyes looking at both watches side by side, I cannot really tell the difference in color.

Oh hm..... I am pretty sure gen is supposed to be slightly offcentered to the left. There should be slightly bigger gap between the logo and where the wave line starts on the right vs left. The issue with 43.5mm version is that the gap is bigger on the left side (vs right side). This is based on what i read though.

See below Pic of gen with slightly wider gap on the right.

I dont know, where you a difference in the gaps on the gen. If there is one its nearly not noticeable.
On the REP the gap is huge on one side and nearly not existing on the other. The dial print is totally off center and nothing like on the gen.

Probably BGW9 X1 or a special mix of similar.

So.... I just received my VSF 116610 sub and the lume on it is very white (both gen and rep). Now I think I know how white SMP 300M lume has to be. It's definitely slightly yellower than Sub lume. Especially side by side, I can see the difference.

Indeed the gen smp is the same pretty much as the sub. I think one of the problems is that the vsf smp lume remains visibly charged in daylight giving it that tint where’s the gen and the subs retains its white appearance in full light.

I was able to take this side by side shot.

Both VSF. SMP vs 116610LN
It was pretty hard to find a spot in my house to show this much variance between the two. I personally don't think it's a huge deal but the difference is definitely there.

Great pic to show the difference.
I have an XF Tudor pelagos that displays similar characteristics with the bezel lume and the dial lume. Same factory of course. Outdoors the lume appears white on the dial and hands but yellow tinted on the bezel. I think it could be the same factory lume issue on certain batches. I’ll take a pic tomorrow.

Hi all, I'm interested in getting an omega seamaster from VSF, but I've saw this video on geektime that says that for reps the crown rotation is clockwise but on genuine pieces it's counter clockwise. So just curious if the V2 have fixed this issue?

I am not sure if this explains it but my V2 works as follows:

Pull the crown all the way out and turn counter clockwise to change the time (moves the minute hand)

Push it in half way and turn clockwise to change the date.
