Ive seen it done on a silver dial gen with a blue aqua terra strap and it was stunning. A few pics floating arounf on IG as well. I believe you may need curved springbars and/or to shave the corners of thr rubber. Regardless it can be done albeit possibly requiring some minor manipulation and fiddling around with incredible results.

Will try that and report back

I have read every post here in this thread and I have followed this thread from Day 1. I bought V1 very early on and same for V2, but I still don't know what people are talking about with the crown guard. I have heard this before, but has anyone actually posted comparison pictures? If they have, can you point me to them & if not could someone post pics of both.

I would have thought that by now someone would have done a Gen vs Rep of this one, but to my knowledge that also has not been done. I know there are several guys that are here that have both. Maybe they don't have good photography skills or don't have the time or what not. I have a nice light tent and all the gear + know how to take excellent pics and am willing to do a Review comparison, but I don't have a Gen so if I could borrow a Gen for 1 day I would do it. Anyone?

Sorry can't seem to find the photos, but in the gen, the CG extends to or just slightly past the midpoint of the crown. In the VSF, the CG is slightly shorter and stops before the midpoint of the crown.

Damn you all to hell with these wrong SELs, now I see that s#&t too. And it's all I see, so I need to remove the bracelet and there's no way I can get it off. Do you guys use springbar tweezers or just the regular springbar tool? I have 0 scratches on my watch, but I can see some coming, I've never experienced such a thing, bracelets always came off easily..

I have found that the springbar tweezers work MUCH better for watches with fitted SELs & no drilled lugs. Another thing that helps a lot is a loop & one of those little wire thingy that holds the loop around your head. That way you can easily use both hands AND see what you are doing.

I am sort of a strap guy anyway, but the rep strap for this one is really quite good.

Therion666 i know right. It just cant be unseen! Mine removed quite easily with a normal springbar tool.

Yeah, it bothers the hell out of me. I kinda wish I never saw those pics, but it is what it is. I have many different springbar tools, but the bracelet doesn't move at all. I've removed a couple of them before, so I really feel like a tool.

Nanook65 I think it's time to go shopping for some tools :) I'd ask my watchsmith to remove it, but we're on a lockdown, so that's not gonna happen any time soon. Thanks for the advice on the loop!

Do you guys think it would make sense to pony up for a gen rubber or is the VSF strap good enough
? How much is the gen rubber anyway?

Do TDs charge full shipping for a rubber strap? I'd hate to pay 50$ on top of 88$...

The gen rubber is like $300 or $350, whatever. Stupid expensive. I actually bought the Zealande strap which is also stupid expensive @ $175. Both gen and Zealande are nice, but neither one is all that much better than the rep strap. The rep is actually quite nice. I just ordered my rep strap when ordering another rep so basically got shipping for free on the strap.

I wouldnt be able to give advice on that. I have been eyeing a red Zealande strap for my blue SMP, but currently have it on a Blushark paul revere Nato.

I bought the $88 rep strap for this rep. I am pretty sure I posted pics of both the Zealande strap and the rep strap probably back like 1000 pages ago idk. I can never get pics to post from my phone so tomorrow I will post a pic or two.

That is the one.

It is nice and considering I know of only 3 straps that will work with a fitted end next to the case it is the best value. I would go with the $88 rep & not bother with either of the more expensive options.

I have never seen the attraction of Nato straps - seems to "devalue" the watch in my opinion. We all have different views though - to each his own.

Agreed. They really do make luxury watches look cheap. The watch wears taller, you have to tuck the tail under the last loop and the whole thing looks beefy in an unpleasant way. Plus I imagine they must smell very charming in the summer.

But that's only my personal opinion, I respect other people's tastes and choices. Can't wait for my rubber strap to arrive.

Yes this is pretty known. The crown guards is shorter on the VSF SMP's. But from the looks of it, they improved it on the new titanium V2 NTTD SMP.... The crown guards is definitely taller. I've compared mine with pics of the gen, it's definitely spot on.
