Very upset with Noob Daytona 904s bracelet

So this is a $688 watch and I cannot unscrew any of the 3 screws in the pic!! I have resized like 200-300 Rolex reps the last 4 years, I had some rough times but never, never had to give up!! This really sucks, I cannot wear this watch and have to send somewhere for some expert to try and do something about it, this sucks!!

I hear ya bro. I had two recent arrivals, both BP with the same issue. I tried the usual tricks, ultrasound, BOILING water, freezing, soaking overnight in acetone, etc. Notta.

Finally ended up cutting the extension link and screw off on one (note the stripped threads, this pin was glued in, thanks BP).

The other one I carefully cut up a jubilee link and one adjacent screw, I lost one link and two screws.

The oyster screws are large enough in diameter that a high quality tap and die set in the hands of a skilled jeweler could get the screws out wihout damaging the links. I have a set but it's not high quality and I broke several bits trying to do it that way. Mine is not made for SS. Plus I didn't mind losing the extension link or one jubilee link.

But as much of a pain as yours is, it's not unrecoverable and shouldn't cost too much. Just need to find a good jeweler or modder. Maybe Jonj480 could help.

Better not mess with the screws anymore at this point, either will ruin the screw, or heres my favorite... Stab your finger with the screwdriver.

Take it to any good local watchsmith. 15 bucks no muss no fuss..

Or sell it to me ????

OP, order a nice black racer leather strap.
Second “ forget “ the bracelet submerged in baby oil for 7 days - this will do the trick.
I think different industrial lubricant for 904 machining makes them stick..

Dont give up!

Does it look like the V2 subdials are a little skinnier? I think maybe they are. My V1 at the bottom.

i have the V2 316L this had the thinner sub-dials. The very first V1 4130 Daytona had thicker sub-dials

have you tried ultrasonic cleaner? i never try to resize a rep bracelet until after I give it a good ultrasonic clean.

Hey there, I don’t have ultrasonic cleaner.. maybe will try the hair dryer and submerse in baby oil as I don’t like the skreaking noises that come out of this metal piece of %*}*¥

try oil soak, test the screws. if they don't budge, try boiling water or hair dryer.

make sure your screwdriver tip fits perfectly the screw head, file the tip of the screwdriver if needed. Not just length but also depth and width of the tip, so it fill the groove perfectly.

Usually after six minutes in the utlrasonic some of the screws are already falling out.

There are other penetrating oils such as WD40 and there its another that includes teflon, you apply and it needs 24 hrs and voila
( oh a proper screwdriver is also important)

PB blaster is the best penetrating oil special for bolts.

Now soaked in penetrating oil, let’s see after 24 hours.. I am lucky to have a good set of screwdrivers otherwise I would have broken down all tips for good by now

I have had success removing seized screws and bolts with boiling water

Add boiling water to a cup, throw in a tea bag, let it brew then a dash of milk, let the pain drift away
