Great look!!!

Hows the crown tho? Can't seem to get the dark patina to stay on the underside of my Zenith Pilot's crown as its rubbing against my skin and thus its shiny T__T

Haven't had a problem with the crown, but it's also not as big as the Zenith crown.

I just received a V6F and the tone of the case looks more like that of a copper than bronze.

Does anyone have the same experience?

Another glaring difference is the lack of the "brushed" finishing on the side of the case. I think this 2 points are enough for the makers to quickly move them.

The dial and hands do look good to me though.

I was really excited about this piece until I received it with the biggest disappointment being the tone of the case. It definitely look different from the QC pics.

Cheers

Thought I'd share my patina progress. Was going for an antiqued look, kinda like the brass doorknob in a 1920's speakeasy...shiny where worn and dark on the less handled surfaces...

Nice patination you got going there. How did you do it?

Thanks guys. I used a product called Brass Ager by Rejuvenation, then removed tarnish from where I didn't want it with a jewelers cloth. Took a few trys to get it the way I wanted. A few tips...make sure watch is clean and oil/residue free before submerging in solution or patina will be uneven. The longer you leave watch in solution, the darker the patina (I found 2-3 mins. worked best for what I was looking for). Let dry completely before polishing so patina can set. Here's the link to the brass ager...

Has anyone tried to open the case back to see the interiors? Wonder if it would look like the MT5601.

Anyone have any suggestions on methods to age the leather strap to look more like the distressed gen strap? I know I can look to replace, just wondering if there are techniques to get the supplied one looking closer to gen.

I got my KW without the nylon strap (ordered and received before they had that strap, also paid A LOT more compared to current prices), anyone in the USA who is going to order a KW, pm me please, want to get a nylon strap if possible. Thanks.

No, I did not have the same experience and the case of the Black Bay Bronze does indeed have a brushed finish; if yours is not brushed that is something you should address with your dealer directly.

It is not a characteristic of the watch and it is not a fault of the KW/V6F watch as overall the case does have the same brushed finish of the Gen.

Regards the tone of the case, the Bronze is a dynamic finish that will constantly change, try using one of the two methods previously detailed (ie ketchup or soda paste) in this thread to return the patina to the original lustre and build from there, or simply wait... it will change.

Has anyone eyeballed the rep and gen side by side yet? Any striking difference besides not being aluminum bronze? Is the bezel colour noticeably different?
