Thanks for the writeup Col - I just got my first auto and didnt know how to handle it and broke just about all of these rules in the couple of days before I found this thread :( No problems noticeable so far though :cower:

Mine is a 7753 though - any updates on how all of this relates to a 7753? (same rules apply? or more or less?)

Also, any chance you'd (or some other Aus member) share a Brissy watchsmith contact to service my A7753?

Thanks

4. Don’t re-set the chrono with the seconds hand anywhere but between 10 and 2 on the dial.
The reset hammer can slam down very hard onto the heart cams for the seconds and minute counters. This force can cause the seconds hand to slip if the hand is sitting anywhere but between 10 and 2. Even genuine watches can suffer from this problem. A slipping center seconds hand is totally preventable by the owner, all you have to do is make sure you never reset your chrono between anything but 10-2. In addition, DO NOT push the chrono reset pusher (@ 4) while the chrono hand is running. It is also recommended that you resist the temptation to 'play' with the chronos too often - especially on an unserviced movement - as this can increase the chances of problems.

Sorry but can I ask a potentially stupid question here...

Im assuming this means the chrono seconds hand and not the running @9 seconds hand?

So when using the chrono function, if the seconds hand finishes anywhere other than between the 10 and 2, we should restart the chrono and let it run around to between the 10 and 2, stop it, and then reset it there?

And again, does this relate to the 7753 just the same as described?

thanks.

Do you think it's a good idea to put an A7750 watch on the winder when not wearing it? Is it safe on the long run or will it wear the parts of the movement faster?

After some problems with chronos on V6 Hublot and Pam 187: when resetting chrono try to avoid it when minute counter is somewhere 30...0 since the reset can hit so hard that minute counter hand can get misaligned!

Hello all I am new to this forum and I just received my first hublot Big Bang with the 7750 movement from Joshua and it's a beautiful watch. I have been trying to educate my self on this movement as much as I could before the watch arrived and I'm glad I found this thread bc the first thing that took me was the rattling noise the watch makes. While I'm glad to here that it's normal for this movement I still wish it didn't make this noise when ever I move my arm. I saw someone said that by getting it serviced it may help reduce the noise alittle. I also know that a lot of people recommend doing a service to the brand new watch so I guess my question is should I look into having my brand new watch serviced? All suggestions and comments are welcome :)

Anyone has a rough estimate on the life expectancy of these movements?

Thanks for the info, I've been a little concern how quickly the rotor moves in a certain direction. Now I know it only winds one way.

I have an issue where my 7750 Chrono sticks at 45 Sec until I shake the watch slightly... Any Ideas?

Always glad to see this thread bumped up, usually means others are taking the time to do research, educate themselves, and improve the advancement of this awesome hobby.

I assume part 1 is not relevant to ETA 7750.
Part 2,3,4 applied to all (A7750 & ETA7750).

Thanks for this info.
