My watchmaker said it was a direct swap. He didn't charge any extra or put in any spacers. It's been almost a year I've had this movement swap done and it's flawless.

I have the Gen of the FXD and it's my go-to swim/snorkle companion.
Not sure I'd ever wear a rep swimming. Don't seem they have proper sealing.
My FXD rep has seen the pool, lake, and snow. Soon it will be in the ocean. (Passed 10 bar after confirming the case back was properly sealed tight.)

Most of the diver reps I’ve personally tested… pass to 6-8 bar from the factories (if you make sure the case back and crown are on tight). A majority of case backs aren’t shipped overly flush and tight from QC checks.

My theory is that’s why so many on the forums are sure a rep can’t swim. VSF/Clean/ZF/M+F and ARF have been able to pass 8 bar up to 12 bar. I do place a slight coat of silicone gasket grease to the case back o-ring when they arrive.

I can testify to that. Been diving with it up to 20 m, so far no problems. "come on in, the water is fine"
