Davidsen, Gens were never Oxidised, that is just crazy mod people like us! Besides it's really DIY easy ... people might think you were selling a new kind of PVD case instead of TI models - which would be useful if you wanted to offer Oxidised cases, simply make TI cases, beadblast and oxi them, probably cheaper than actual PVD !

My vote, White Dial PAM055 nobody reps that base and the GEN is rare to boot!

I'm sorry - but there is no such thing as a PAM55 with a white dial.

What you are showing in that pic is a PAM10 with a custom DLC'd case. I know the guy who had it done. Bjorn Hell Andersen.

It's not uncommon for people the modify their GEN Pam's. I've seen bead-blasted and DLC'd versions of some really odd choices - like a PAM127, 183, 24, 111, 113, etc, etc.

Not saying you shouldn't make this model - just so as everyone knows it's a fantasy watch and a dead giveaway that it's a rep.

082 + 036

-

Of course, lots of votes for the 177H. I'd also put in a good word for the tobacco dialed 036 :)

And, yes, the 082 would also rock with that classy Anthracite blue dial and a good rep of it would be a difficult one to call out [smilie=thumbsup.gif]

Agree w/ @babola: PAM die-hards WILL buy it. I will gladly put aside the USD now ....

I found a bigger picture in case you don't have it.

Man, I just read David's post that this makes the list - this is way more desirable in my mind than a 177H. The blue satin dial is very fine looking - an elegant blue, so David, I'd spend some time trying to get this colur + finish right :)

Definite buy!

black seconds' hand a must for 082

babola said:
David, one little thing to note if you're after the 082 rep - the second hand is black, not white as with most other PAM Marinas.

cheers mate,

Good point mate! Early 212s were flawed in this regard, and it is irksome (I have one). So would be good to have the black seconds 'out of the box', not v2.0.

The 2nd 'more blue' 082 dial looks like a worthy improvement.

I am VERY excited at the prospect of getting this quality of reps of the 036/082 :!: Thanks for the feedback opp David - also creates 'buy-in' (what an awkward term is this piece of corporate jargon, even as I use it myself, it's embarrasing!).

I'm not speaking for him, or making demands. I will note, however, that once he gets these fonts down, he may be able to make further upgrades to his other watches in the future. You want the perfect 005? It may be within reach!

My guess is you are referring to the previous page. It's a custom made... You can always get the dial off the shelf. When david is done with this project, I am going to get a new solid Ti caseback if he offers one.

I can't wait to see the 55 in final form. Babola, did you say the fonts on the 55 as originally done by Davidsen look spot on?

The 036/082 text is now spot on, IMO.

055 dial text still needs some work, the writing Luminor and Panerai need to be just a bit wider. Letters/fonts are OK, but spacing betwen letters should be larger.

That's just my opinion, anyway.

cheers,
babola

I want my 082 Vespucci rep!

-

I think these are some of the most interesting projects undertaken since joining RWI (OK, DSN's vintages are the ultimate manufacturers' efforts, IMO).

I also think that we should not expect a perfect caseback on the 082 Vespucci: indeed, I would rather *obaiin* a good dial colour/font than be concerned about the veracity of the very rare caseback. Of course, ideally we desire it all.

BUT, if I can have a good dial + font on an 082, I'll accept a plain Ti case.

Am I too pragmatic? I just want the 082 look & feel ... the ridges of the back, the design, are an ideal, that, if this element destroyed the chance of owning a decent facsimilae of a 082 for something I do not see 90% of the time, then I'm not going to be overly idealistic.

The only carbon fiber dials in a Luminor Marina were autos . A 18k white gold and a yellow gold case. The 180 and 140.

Other styles were a wild grey carbon fiber dialed 42mm Platnium Rad chrono as well as the Ti Sub 25. These are all I can think of, maybe other SE out there?

Well said. I agree that getting the satin anodized look blue dial color 'accurate' as well as the font would be first and foremost. Down the road if we were able to achieve an accurate engraving of the Amerigo Vespucci on a ti case back, it's a very easy upgrade to install. lol
