I think that suspension pending final decision is not unfair at all in light of the fact that none of them have responded to us in this forum openly --yet there is enough discourse at RWG from dealers and enough commentary from RWI members both here and at RWG to make that decision.

At the very least we need to ditch the 5 star dealer thing.

If you dont suspend them because as admins and mods you feel that isn't right----then at the very least DO NOT give them UNFAIR advantage over other dealers that have not been involved in this mess.

Let them be subject to the same browsing of the public dealers section as everyone else. Let people see them side by side with other dealers so we have competition and a free market. Let people make a comparison and not be lead directly to the two by a "5 Star rating" before even seeing other dealers.

No matter how you attempt to sugarcoat the situation - a fraud has occurred. They have abused their status as "trusted dealers" and run roughshod over our community.

No sugarcoating needed, as previously stated, action will be taken when there is a consensus.

The only change I see is that the term "5 Star" has been edited out--but they still receive top banner advertising over other dealers--that isn't fair at all. Newbies will still exclusively go to them first as they are listed as "RWI dealers" now.

The dealers should all play from the same green, so to speak. Once the rating system gets put in place for both dealer and consumer--that playing field will be even more equal and fair for all.

Y'know, I've followed this thread from the start... man, what a roller-coaster. The mood changes hourly. People are concerned over the fact that no dealers have weighed in... well, except one, and he got bashed about quite a bit....

Well, just put this in perspective.
THIS THREAD IS ONLY TWO DAYS OLD!

EDGE'S FIRST POST over on RGW was Tuesday morning, about the time I went to work.... it appeared here two hours later, and it had ALREADY started bubbling like a witches cauldron...

As Star said earlier, mods and dealers are scattered all around the globe! The subject is serious, yes- but for pete's sake, give the situation some time and think about the consequences of hasty action.

Just my $0.0002 worth.

Don't get me wrong, if a dealer pays for adspace like a banner, then that is ok--people understand that idea.

But my point is listing them again as "RWI Dealers" leads newbies to believe they are the only sanctified ones --so to speak.

Just voicing my opinion D4M-not trying to frustrate you.

So if the "RWI dealers" is also being deleted and replaced with something else--Id say a blank space until teh replacement is loaded would be the most appropriate. You can leave the paid for banners as is.

drhydro--my thought process is actually morphing beyond the original issues to a somewhat related one as a result of all the input--including the heated input

I think all the dealers should work off the same general board "dealers section" only. The exception to the rule being ad space on banners that they can purchase to support the forum. These banners can be set to be random and change with every page loaded.

Well, it may not be a consensus, but I think this speaks VOLUMES about the fact that this is a HUGE issue for A LOT of people.
Getting a consensus in here will be like herding housecats. Getting a barometer reading on how everyone feels, well, it's already there for anyone who cares to look...

Edge put it nicely in perspective. The dealers need the interested and reliable buyers of this forum, and the buyers need reliable service and quality goods. It's in the interest of both parties to keep the business transparent so everybody feels comfortable with transactions, prices, service, etc. This forum doesn't work if it's built on buyers alone without any support from quality dealers. It also doesn't work if it's primarily a dealer commercial site. The reality is the dealers aren't out to defraud IMHO, and the buyers aren't out to run the dealers out of Dodge. This is a good forum that could be better. There needs to be more transparency and honest discussion. Something that is already taking place judging from this debate.

some have good communication with dealer of choice

and have not a problem..
