Just ordered my first PAM, 372 from Ryan at Intime. Won't be getting it until after the CNY but at $188 it's an absolute steal and I would hop on it before too late

That's great. Is it a zf? I checked it out and it says 288 for price.

do you plan on getting a solid caseback? if so, which one? speaking of the 372, is there an equivalent noob version of the 422?

Thanks. Let me jnow how it is when you receive. Is ita super rep like the zf one?

The ZF PAM 372 isn't a super-rep, it's a first class low level rep. Actually in the same category as the Noob version. The Noob has the superior dial but the ZF has the decidedly more accurate movement.

Thanks for the clarification. I saw the zf in one of a TDs site and it said superclone. I thought it meant super rep. Or was it referribg to just the p.3000 movement as superclone? My bad still learning about the terminologies used [emoji5]

Superclone is the term used to describe the P.3000 movement clone the factories produced because the term super rep could only be used for the watches (well that's my idea plus it's an excellent chance to use a new term. Hehehe). Not sure why we haven't used it for the Rattrapante movement, it's not merely a cosmetic clone, the function actually works and that is a feat!

You only needed 12 because of your Knights at the Round Table display. :p

If according to the definition set by Webster, "a bodily condition characterized by an excess of blood and marked by turgescence and a florid complexion", no. :wow:

If according to the etymology of the word plethora, which comes from the Greek word for "fullness", still no. My collection is not full by my own estimates.

If according to the definition set by the MacMillan dictionary, "a greater amount than you need or want", maybe (although I certainly feel or want I need to get some more PAMs). Oh well.

I had a PAM375 before but sold it to a friend who fell in love with it. The PAM617 and the PAM375 are similar in that they are both PAMs using the Luminor 1950s case and domed crystal. However, I feel the PAM617 is better in that the case material is same as gen, DLCed Titanium as opposed to the rep PAM375, which used a PVDed stainless steel case compared to the composite case on the gen. Also the fact that the PAM617 has a closed caseback gives it another point over the PAM375 (although they both use the P.3000 and the PAM375 uses the superclone version to boot, a closed caseback keeps the movement hidden from scrutinizing eyes). Lastly, from the front, the PAM375 looked nothing more than a PVDed PAM127 (although with the upgraded P.3000 manual movement and the patinated lume).

I completely forgot to ask you this but is the PAM617 case in the V6F rep actually DLCed Titanium or is it DLCed stainless steel? it's a bit confusing based on the various TD sites and how they list the watch in the details.

Thanks

Hi Slyger,

The pam 372 noob is an excellent choice~

The ZF 1359 does wear a little smaller/lower on the wrist in versus to the 372. ZF 1359 has a case size of 44mm x 15.8mm. The 372 has a case size of 47mm x 17mm.

I too, love the larger size pams but they look a little ridiculous on my skinny wrist. So, I opted to buy the pam 622 and fell in love with it~ It's my personal favorite but the strap is pretty horrendous. I also removed the deco plates on the movement because they were only held on by double-sided tape, if you can even call it that. It has a closed back so it didn't really matter.

Please, which dealer is the best to buy the Pam 372 Noob? Thanks a lot

If you are looking at some submersibles, you may want to look at the 389, 382, and 508. For 44mm, look at the 243. For any other recommendations, just look at my signature.. [emoji6]

Which 389 is the best version now? V6F? Or Is the SF, with the proper working hour hand worth it? It's not exactly clear to me based on searching the forums. I'm also wondering if this is the best bet in the 47mm subs as far as rep quality. I don't think I want my first sub to be a bronzo, or ceramica, carbotech

If you look at Ale's Pam guide (sticky thread in the Panerai section), it should tell you which is the best. Mine is from ZF, but not sure if there is a better one out there now.

As far as case material, the titanium case /ceramic bezel I think would be a good starter for you.

Personally I would choose the V6F. The SF version, while having a working P.9000 function, introduces a visual inaccuracy. It largely depends which is more important to you. Off the top of my head, the other candidates would be PAM285, PAM364, PAM569 and PAM571.

Thank you both! I checked ALE's guide but didn't see the SF version listed for the 389 so I wasn't sure about that version.

So is the 389 just a 364 with a ceramic bezel? I'm still surprised there aren't more blue dial subs besides the 371

And without the bezel markers, different shape dial markers, and the vintage brown text. I'd say they're very different...

Man! I glanced at the 364 quickly on my phone as a CO. Paris on and I completely missed that the matters were completely different! Sorry about that.

Do you have both? If so, which do you prefer? The black with the brown strap in your pic is a striking combo

Nope, at this point my only submersibles are the 389 and 508. In the past I've had the 382 and 243 as well, but never the 364 or 187, since I refuse to wear something that crazy heavy on my wrist.
