I have enough genuine watches. Even expensive one's. So long suckers.
Exactly this. He who shouts loudest and all that! This was a curious wording... Someone who is very well off would not feel the need to quantify their collection in this manner.
Any recommendations? I know CTime does but only tests up to 2bar..When you order a watch unless you have a watchsmith who can service your watch, then I would find a TD who offers a Clean Lube Service with waterproofing for a extra fee as these watches are not made with same standards as legal watches. If you are spending $500 why not add $120-150 extra. Only send a watch back if its last resort, never send it back if you can get someone to work on it locally. If you read all the posts here you would get that answer. As sending a watch back comes with risks.
Check the list of watch smiths here on RWI to find one near you. I would definitely want to to test it for more than 2 bar.Any recommendations? I know CTime does but only tests up to 2bar..
Andrew from Trusty Time does. I had lots of luck with him. Unfortunately I forgot to do it on my last order and it was dead on arrival. And because no one can work on Panerai rep movement I had to risk it and send it back. They did receive it and I payd for the service while they see why it was dead. So this way im protected. But I knew I was risking it sending it back but I had no option. Always pay for the service. When you order check the service link and see its $120 for service and waterproofing. Add it.Any recommendations? I know CTime does but only tests up to 2bar..
Trusty's site is up! If you were going to the one with 3 8s, it now only has 2.Andrew from Trusty Time does. I had lots of luck with him. Just a fyi Trusty time is showing Server Down as of right now so they may be getting a new site. You can message him directly from here and see if he has that model.
Why pay extra for movement optimizations before the watch travels around the globe and things can get damaged? Taking OPs watch as an example, he would have payed an 'extra hundred bucks' but the watch would probably be not in significant better state? If you're buying a watch, choose a trusted dealer who offers cleaning, lubrication, and waterproofing for an extra fee. These watches aren't as high-quality as legal ones. Spending an extra hundred bucks on that watch is worth it. Only return a watch as a last resort, as it can be risky.
