So here is my (still ongoing) super franken project.

So it has a Gen dial, hands, date, crystal. I have a Gen bezel but my dumbass forgot that you need a Gen crystal gasket/ring? Thus, the Gen bezel didn’t fit

Hoping to tweak some parts of the movement as well in the coming months.

What do y’all think?

Beauty. Is it CF or VSF? Does tye crystal sit flush with the insert? Did you have to change the gasket to a different size? what parts of the movement are you going to Franken?

wow thats a lot of questions haha.

Its a VSF 116610. Gen crystal sits flush with case.

Its still a VSF bezel and crystal gasket as the gen didnt fit because I dont have a gen crystal gasket yet. the other gen parts fit no problem.

for the movement, im thinking gen balance and hairpsring and maybe winding system? i'll see but no rush on the movement

Looks like I will need to get a service. My quick set date function doesn’t work anymore. Hopefully, a service will remedy this.

Out of curiosity, what kind of prices are you guys paying for a service?

I paid just under £170 total including postage both ways for a full service and pressure testing.

I’ve seen them a couple of times but they’re not as common as the Kermit/Starbucks models. They’re not available in the 41mm versions so that’s probably why there’s not as many out there. They do come up for sale on occasion so it’s worth a shot.

The 2R vsf are the very best vsf ever put out. The one I have is amazing. It looks just like the genuine article and the movement is great. The 2R watches were made of the very finest parts. There was only a few hundred made and those went to the top dealers. Most all are in collections of the most discriminate collectors around the world. It’s said the parts were so expensive vsf lost money on them. If you were fortunate enough to get one you don’t want to get rid of it. Just saying
