I'm on the fence between getting a 114060 or a 124060. I much prefer the slimmer bracelet and clasp of the 11 but the case on the 12 is much more appealing to me so it's a bit of a draw. Currently leaning towards the 11 just so that I don't have to mod it to remove the ghost date position.

Anyone else been in a similar predicament? If, so, which reference did you go for and why?

You’re welcome. @asusundevils1971 seems very knowledgeable regarding these reps whereas I’m just repeating what I’ve been told or read somewhere. I’m sure you’ll be happy with your 114060. I just got a 124060 q66 and had the movement Frankensteined to the original Rolex design and got rid of the ghost date issue too. These vsf submariners are awesome. Good luck with your new watch bro

Correct me if i’m wrong here; you are right, the Starbucks is 126610LV, and is 41mm.
I don’t think they ever made starbucks in 40mm. Then it’s called Kermit and got ref 16610LV.

He asked if Q66-Serials on VSF 41mm Submariners are the best you can get. I said: Yes.
Q66-Serial is a 41mm only prefix.

S19 S29 S39 K25 and K28 are VSF 40mm Submariner prefixed serials.
K28 is also used for 114060LN, VSF 40mm no-date Submariner, but I somehow got a date-Submariner with a K28 serial.

Old or new, 40mm vs 41mm is not really noticeable. Some prefer one movement over the other. It is just personal preference.

Yes, and I was wondering about the 40mm.
116610LV aka Hulk doesn’t come in 41mm, and then it’s good to know what serials are good and not😉

I looked for a 41mm bezel for my Starbucks the last couple of days and there’s not much of anything regarding bezels for the 41mm vsf submariners.

The factories should be able to create the new color of the mk2 Starbucks. It has almost been a year now with the updated bezel.
