Personally find the old VSF midlink step good enough for me and i dont pay too much attention to them.

Cyclops edge distortion is non existent.

However, Halo effect is not as prominent and the crystal edges i suspect are too straight, causing the inidividual minute markers on the dial to show in the crystal edge reflection.

One step forward and potentially one step back (now has a better cyclops, but the crystal is mayeb not right).

The SEL midlink steps on both 11 and 12 were a disappointment to me, once you have seen how sharp and defined (a new unpolished) gen is, it's real easy to see the difference they make when if they can get right. VSF SEL midlinks are more like a well worn and then polished gen. I was hoping they had fixed this alon with the cyclops. When I know they have, I'll start buying Subs again to replace the ones I have.

New unwrapprd, latest version as of yesterday.
The unwrapped one was purchased in September 2021.



1 year old starbucks insert and pip.




Latest version as of 26th October 2022.




I can see the following changes in the insert.

1) green on the latest one is darker and more saturated. Might not show well in the pictures, but IRL it is slightly darker and not so faded.

2) insert markers are slightly thicker in font, more engraved and more 3D like.

3) lume pip is not that whiteish cum like color.

4) the metal border of the pip seems to have became thinner. Gen is still thinner than both versions.


I heard there will be an update on the insert again later this month or early next. I've placed and order and will check it out once again.

This is the pic I received of the up and coming silent update. I just had to order another one.

It is SIGNIFICANTLY more gen like.

I just received QC pics for the Q66 VSF Starbucks. It should be the latest version of it. On this one i see that the pip metal part is thicker compared to others VSFs. Maybe a V2 new feature?

has anyone received an 126610LN with Q6 serial? i’ve only seen them on LV. i just got QC pics from trusty for a 126610LN and serial starts with 2R9. is that V2? or should i ask for Q6?

Can anyone help me what the newest VSF no date version is? Haha I am a bit confused I think the AO2 looks better than the K25

But AO2 is older or?

idk, i think it’s the lighting/angle.

just a thought, but it’s entirely possible for the new batch to have older serial numbers. considering that the serial is engraved on the rehaut, and assuming that no changes have been made to the rehaut for the new batch, it would be very logical and cost effective for them to continue using the old rehauts with the older serial for the new batches.

2 of my new Q66 has slim pip compared to my 1 year old and 3 weeks old starbucks.

My 3 week old one is still 2R.

Who will use a loupe to look at the PIP on your watch?
I am pretty sure even Rolex does have variations of this PIP on their Subs too, just like their inserts and dials

Pip may be one thing. It is like a finger pointing away to the moon.
Don't concentrate on the finger or you will miss all that heavenly glory.. and the new updated cyclops.

The shallow blunt SEL remains unchanged.
