I am thinking about getting either a 114060 or 124060 from VSF. From what I read, the quality of the bracelet falls a bit behind the overall quality of these models. Is it possible to swap the VSF oyster bracelet of these models with a corresponding bracelet from clean? Or is it likely, that there will be issues, e.g. gaps between case and SELs etc.?

You can swap bracelets from the same reference I.e. 114060 arf bracelet on a 114060 vsf.

I have both VSF and Clean 11 series sub. Both bracelet feels very similar. If I have to nitpick, VSF feels ever so slightly more solid. However, VSF tends to have SEL issue. Mine has different recessed depth on left and right. IMO SEL is not that big of a deal because you can spot it during qc.

Hi Legends,

I was hoping to get some advise from you all regarding a superfranken 114060 vs 124060 no date build I want to put together...

I'm lucky enough to own a gen starbucks 124060 but wanted a more eveyday tool watch sub with no date that I wouldn't be afraid to bang around at work. My wrist is 16.5cm/6.5in (17cm/6.7in on the knuckle) so my starbucks looks a tad big/heavy on the wrist compared to my vintage 40mm comex (which obviously doesnt get worn at work either) !

I've seen endless debates, blogs and videos regarding the 2 models...I don't much care about the mvmt/PR, mainly about the look, feel and weight of the watch. I suppose the main thing that bothers me abouth 114060 from pics only are the wide lugs and "chunky" looking feel but haven't had the chance to actually throw it on and see how it looks on the wrist.

Just wanted to reach out to see if anyone has similar wrists sizes to mine and has had the pleasure of wearing both...penny for your thoughts if you have.

Cheers

Did you decide to go with the VSF 126610LV?

I put an ARF bracelet on my VSF 124060 just today. It is different, I'd say overall better, than the VSF bracelet, but it's not night and day. I had expected more, and I'd say it's not really worth the money, considering that we are talking about reps (I paid 140 Euro incl. shipping for the bracelet, but I believe there are vendors that even charge over 200 USD).

The main difference is, that the gaps between the links are tighter on the ARF, which should be a bit more gen-like. It is probably not something you can see when the watch is on your wrist, but you can see it side by side. The ARF is hence slightly shorter than the VSF, I'd say somewhere between 1 and 2mm.
The external finishing is very similar, also SEL fit is very similar. On the VSF I found metal shavings in all drillholes when I sized the bracelet - this was not the case on the ARF, the finishing of these fine details is better.
The fold-over security lock closes tighter on the ARF, which I prefer, not sure though how the gen would feel.
The engravings on the ARF (clasp and SEL) are deeper, which looks better, but the "Rolex" engraving feels a bit sharp-edged.

The VSF bracelet was quite squeaky when it was new. This has improved a bit over the past two months, and the new ARF sounds like the used VSF does (which is better than the VSF when it was new).

So it really is just a marginal improvement overall. The bracelet on my CF 126500 remains the best rep bracelet in my collection by far. I was hoping that the ARF bracelet for the Sub would give a similarly premium impression, but it does not.

As I said in the beginning - it's not worth the money to swap the VSF bracelet for an ARF one. The differences are really just small details that don't have much of an impact when wearing the watch.

Absolutely loving my Super Franken 116610 at the moment.

Build is GEN dial, hands, crystal, datewheel, bezel and insert.

I have heard that getting a gen balance bridge, wheel and hairspring makes it a perfect franken? Do yall reckon its worth it? I do see the movement is a bit jittery and would those movement components smooth it out?

It looks amazing, congrats :) how much did you pay for it if I may ask?

Et voila...all gen minus the mvmt on a 17ishcm wrist 🤌🏼

So VSF case + bracelet with gen dial, xtal, bezel and insert? I really need to do this with my 126610 as well… did you rework the case or did you keep the sharp corners/edges? :)

Is there something I need to check (like serial numbers or bracelet codes) for a 114060 vsf?
